We draw a butterfly with children 5 years old. Video for children how to draw a beautiful butterfly

Butterflies are, of course, one of the most beautiful insects that can hardly leave anyone indifferent. They are quite widespread, so in the summer you can draw a cabbage butterfly or, for example, a peacock’s eye from life. Every painter knows perfectly well how to draw a butterfly, but beginning artists often find it difficult to draw this graceful insect. But to achieve success, as a rule, it is enough to know the structural features of a particular butterfly, and also try to achieve symmetry in your drawing, that is, so that the right and left parts of the body, including the wings, are almost identical. Explaining to a child how to draw a butterfly step by step is not at all difficult - after all, kids love bright and colorful objects and will be happy to learn how to draw this wonderful insect.
Before you draw a butterfly with a pencil and then color it, you need to prepare:
1). A piece of paper;
2). Multi-colored pencils;
3). Pencil;
4). Eraser;
5). Pen – preferably a black gel pen.

If all the items that were listed just above are ready, then you can draw a butterfly step by step with a pencil, and then color it:
1. Draw a vertical line. Mark the beginning and end of the segment, and then divide it into two approximately equal parts;
2. Based on these marks, draw two rectangles, and in the middle of them outline the body of the butterfly;
3. In the upper rectangle, draw two large wings;
4. In the bottom rectangle draw two more wings;
5. Draw the body and head of the butterfly;
6. Light lines outline the outline of the pattern on the wings. When learning how to draw a butterfly, remember that each variety is characterized by a certain color and pattern on the wings. IN in this case This is a peacock butterfly;
7. Trace the sketch with a pen;
8. Having erased the extra lines with an eraser, start coloring the image. First, paint over the head and body of the butterfly, using, in addition to a black pencil, red-brown and light brown shades;
9. Use a black pencil to draw a pattern on the upper wings;
10. Use yellow, brown and black pencils to paint the edges of the upper wings;
11. After adding a blue pencil, continue working on coloring the upper wings of the insect;
12. Use a dark red pencil to shade the main part of the upper wings. Then use dark blue and black shades to draw the veins;
13. Use light brown and black pencils to color the edges of the lower wings;
14. Paint the central part of the lower wings with a dark red pencil, and then draw veins on them with black.
The peacock butterfly drawing is completely ready! Now you know how to draw a butterfly, and also how to color it correctly with colored pencils!

Having decided to write about how to draw a butterfly with a pencil step by step, I realized that it couldn’t be done with simple instructions with photographs of other people’s master classes or their videos. At the same time, I will show you how, together with you, I will follow the recommendations for beginners, so that we can have the most beautiful of the beautiful, the most winged of the winged, and the most unusual of the original, a flower moth! Go!

First step. Drawing a cocoon

How to draw a butterfly? Where to begin? Surprisingly, in order for our picture to come out smooth and beautiful, we need a ruler. Knowing myself, I also equipped myself with an eraser to wipe off anything that would spoil the picture.

What we need:

  • Colour pencils;
  • Paper;
  • Ruler;
  • Grater.
So, we begin to draw a butterfly step by step with a pencil from the cocoon. It should be a little thinner than an egg, but at the same time thicker than we associate with the cocoon from which our moth will emerge.

We draw a line across our cocoon, so that its upper part consists of 2/3 of the cocoon. I took the simplest example of how to draw a butterfly with a pencil step by step.

Second step. Making wings

It's time to draw the wings. They differ in shape and size. The lower ones are extended vertically, the upper ones slightly horizontally.

I measure the same line segment to the left and right of the cocoon. This is where the upper and lower wings will touch. How to draw lower wings? They come from one point at the bottom of the cocoon. The upper ones do not touch at the top.

Their shape may not be ideal, but it is advisable to try to ensure that they are rounded and symmetrical to one another (upper to upper, and lower wing to lower).

Third step. We draw mustaches for our Monarch

we complement the butterflies important detail. In those places where the upper wings extend from the cocoon, we will have antennae. We make a loop at the top of each drawn antennae.

At the same point you need to slightly change the cocoon, making it narrower to the bottom. Now it looks more believable.

I took an example of how to draw a butterfly step by step from my children's lessons in the art studio. But you can choose a more “adult” image of our noble “moth”, making it more like the real thing.

Fourth step. Let our beauty have patterns on her wings!

You can choose any pattern. But the most traditional one is circles and divorces. How to learn to draw patterns? I kept them very simple: on each wing there are two circles - one larger, it will be located closer to the edge of each wing. The second one is closer to the cocoon, and I will draw it smaller in size.

In this image you need to paint the “body” of the moth with patterns. Several stripes run across it in arcs. You can learn to draw a butterfly with amazing patterns, come up with one yourself, or get an idea from the website.

Fifth step. Removing unnecessary

Let's examine our masterpiece. It is not perfect, but it is already clear that the “moth” depicted on it promises to become a beauty. And we can help her with this if we carefully erase with a rubber band all the unnecessary details and lines that helped us draw her. Now they are not needed and we carefully remove them. Then, we draw a butterfly and trace its contours with a pencil.

Sixth step. Drawing pictures with colored pencils

The most pleasant moment has come, we need to add color to all the details and then our ward should “come to life.” Let's use colored pencils. We drew a butterfly, but it can and should be made motley and colorful. That is why I paint its body yellow, its wings with a red pencil, and the decorative spots on its wings blue and orange.

But our Monarch (and this is definitely it, judging by its beauty) will look even more beautiful against a bright background. That's why I draw a leaf. It’s as if our lovely creature is sitting on a leaf and offering its wings to the sun! Beauty!

If you are interested in learning how to draw a butterfly on a flower, then you can use the same technique as with a leaf. We “plant” the ready-made moth on a chamomile, cornflower or other flower arrangement.

With your participation, I was able to draw a beautiful butterfly. This is very simple technique execution of the drawing. It is easy to master even for those who have never used pencils, and even for children it will not be difficult. Parents who want to spend quality time with their kids can draw such a moth with them.

Perhaps one day a child will surprise adults when he gives not a purchased postcard with a photo, but one he made himself. And his craft will be decorated with a picture of a lovely butterfly!

The talent for drawing can not only be given by nature - it can be easily developed if you train hard. You should start with simple pictures, for example, butterflies. It can be done in several techniques at once using pencil or watercolor, if you need a brighter and richer drawing.

How to draw a butterfly step by step

Before drawing a butterfly, you need to decide on the stages, because it is much easier to do it in order, especially for beginners. The sequence for creating a picture of a colorful creature is as follows:

  • body;
  • upper wings;
  • lower wings;
  • patterns on the upper and lower wings.

An important point is the color of the insect. After drawing the patterns on the wings with a pencil, they begin this process. You can use paints, markers or colored pencils. Although if you leave it this way, the drawing will serve as a coloring book for children who will be able to show their imagination. Another important nuance is auxiliary lines, which will help beginners in drawing, but they will need to be erased with an eraser after finishing the picture.

Pencil

Pencil drawing has several basic steps. By following simple instructions, you will receive beautiful picture. Here's how to draw a butterfly with a pencil step by step (instructions for beginners):

  1. Draw a straight line in the center the length of the insect's body.
  2. Draw a circle on top that will serve as the head, and from it on both sides of the straight line make 2 wavy ones - they are the body of the insect. From the circle up, draw 2 symmetrically smooth lines with curls at the ends - these are antennae.
  3. Construct a rectangle with the previously drawn straight line in the center. Draw diagonals and center lines inside, and divide the bottom side into 12 parts. Count out 2 parts on both sides and connect these points with the upper corners - you get a trapezoid.
  4. Place the upper wings in 2 upper rectangles, placing them diagonally, the side edge should coincide with the side of the trapezoid.
  5. Having chosen the shape of the lower wings, for example, in the form of a rose or a drop, draw them according to the same principle as the upper ones.
  6. Erase additional lines with an eraser, draw the contours of the wings at your discretion, and sketch out symmetrical veins inside them.
  7. Trace the contours of the finished painting.

Watercolor

You can leave the picture in pencil form or continue to paint with watercolors. To do this you will need several tools:

  • watercolor paper of the required format, A4 or A3 is enough for a larger painting;
  • water jar;
  • watercolor paints;
  • palette;
  • squirrel brushes No. 3 and No. 8.

For watercolor drawing you will need a pencil base. To do this, use the instructions described above. Having completed the picture in pencil, you can start coloring it with watercolors. Here's how to paint a butterfly:

  1. Watercolor drawings have a transparent structure, so use an eraser to erase not only the auxiliary lines, but also a little of the main ones, so that you can easily distinguish the outline, but at the same time they do not show through the paint.
  2. Using a larger brush, fill the wings with blue or any color you like.
  3. Take a smaller brush, dilute with water on the palette brown paint and cover the areas between the veins with it.
  4. If you have mastered the basic lessons on how to draw butterflies, you can use various sketches and create more complex drawings. In addition, it is worth trying methods of painting with oils or even with your hands, which children will especially like: you can hang their drawings on the wall so that the child is proud of his work. For more easy drawing on initial stages Sketches and photographs of finished pictures will help you as examples.

To understand how to draw beautiful butterfly pencil step by step, you don't have to be an artist. When making a drawing, you don’t want to get a thick caterpillar with wings in a circle? Then this article will be useful to you. Before the eyes of a surprised child, the lines on the paper will gradually turn into a beautiful butterfly.

Step by step drawing a butterfly with a pencil

Moths fly like real flowers in summer over green lawns and city flower beds. The child looks at the beauties with admiration, and when he comes home, he tries to draw them on paper with a pencil himself. After several unsuccessful attempts the baby asks for your help. How to draw a beautiful butterfly? This seems very simple to do, but a drawing that is far from the original will not satisfy your inquisitive preschooler. He will draw a caterpillar with two circles instead of wings himself. The child looks at you with hope and waits for a miracle. Try following the simple step-by-step instructions to feel like a real artist. Below is a description of how to draw a butterfly with a pencil step by step:
Step 1. First, mark the sheet. Conduct with a simple pencil thin vertical line. Draw the body of the butterfly so that the line runs exactly in the middle of the image: at the top the head, then the chest and abdomen.

Step 2. For the wings, you need to draw two symmetrical lines with a pencil, extending horizontally from the bottom of the butterfly’s chest in both directions. Arcs are drawn across the abdomen, making it striped. Soon the butterfly will have wings and it will look just like a real one.

Step 3. Next, draw symmetrical semicircles of the lower wings of the butterfly with a pencil. For the upper wings, draw from the main ones horizontal lines two rays going up. Small lines are drawn on the butterfly's head - these will be antennae.

Step 4. Now you can completely draw the upper wings, connecting the upper points of the rays with the base of the head with arcs. To check how symmetrically it was possible to draw the lower wings, draw two rays on both sides of the butterfly’s body, going down at the same angle. All unevenness in the drawing is corrected using an eraser and pencil.

Step 5. Finish the drawing step by step, decorating the moth as you wish. They erase the extra markings on the body that helped create symmetrical pattern. The edges of the wings are made more rounded and embossed. Draw large eyes and curved antennae with a pencil.

Peep beautiful pattern on the wings of a moth you can draw it in nature or draw it yourself.
On a note! It is important to ensure that the pattern is symmetrical on the right and left wings.
Scientists believe that the 100 thousand described species of lepidoptera are only half of those existing on Earth. The other half of the beautiful moths unknown to man, may well resemble the butterfly you want to draw. The most interesting thing about drawing a butterfly with a pencil step by step is the wide variety of options. Beautiful moths differ not only in the patterns on their wings, but also in their shape - moths, cabbage moths and swallowtails have different shapes and sizes. A butterfly can fly, sit on a beautiful flower, or flutter on a piece of paper in a multi-colored round dance. This kind of drawing is an excellent exercise for developing children's imagination. You performed a miracle - you helped your child draw a butterfly step by step with a pencil, and now don’t interfere with his further creativity.

Another one on how to draw a real butterfly step by step, without using sheet markings. If you don't succeed the first time, don't worry. Having some experience in drawing, you can see all the proportions by eye and create a drawing quickly and easily, as in this video.

Butterflies are wonderful and very beautiful creatures of our planet. They appear every summer and are a delight to the eye. Today we will learn to draw a butterfly with a pencil, and then we will color it. This lesson is suitable for children, adults, beginning artists and, of course, experienced artists :)

There is nothing difficult about drawing this beautiful creature. The only difficulty you may encounter is with the symmetry of the wings. But it doesn’t matter, the more you practice, the faster you will learn to draw them correctly.

How to draw a butterfly step by step

Finally, it's time to draw our insect, let's draw our butterfly with a pencil!

Stage 1
The first step is the simplest step. We draw a straight line, the line must be straight. This is an auxiliary line and it indicates the length of the body and divides it in half.

Stage 2
The second step is a little more difficult than the first, but we are confident that you can still handle it. Draw a torso divided into two parts. At the same time, the lower part of the body is slightly larger than the upper.

Also at this step we make a circle, which will be the head of our butterfly, and draw long antennae.

Stage 3
It's time for wings. We will draw them step by step, first top part, and in the next step the lower one.

So, usually butterflies have upper wings that are much larger than lower ones and they grow, accordingly, from the upper part of the body. In our case, they are triangular in shape and almost identical in size to the lower ones. If you don't like the triangular shape, then you can easily draw any other shape.

Stage 4
Now we are working on the lower wings. They are round, large and extend far beyond the body line that we drew in the first step. If you haven't noticed, the upper wings should also extend beyond this line.

The most difficult thing in drawing a butterfly is to make symmetrical wings, of course, if you work on a computer, then achieving symmetry will not be difficult for you, but if you draw a butterfly with a pencil on paper, then you may have problems. Therefore, please be patient and have an eraser :)

Stage 5
Now comes the most enjoyable stage in drawing a butterfly. Working on the patterns on the wings! Patterns can be very diverse, namely round, linear, plain, multi-colored, etc.

So, we make the patterns symmetrical on the right and left.

Stage 6
The patterns are not wings, they can be symmetrical or not symmetrical at all. Even if you want to draw a butterfly with absolutely different patterns on different wings, then this is quite normal.

Stage 7
We complete the patterns on the upper wings.

Stage 8
You already know a lot about patterns, so try to come up with some of your own patterns for the lower wings.

Stage 9
On last stage We color our butterfly and it is ready.

There are an endless number of variations of drawing butterflies. Experiment with colors, shapes, patterns, sizes and you will come up with wonderful creations.

Another option for drawing a butterfly

I will teach you how to draw a butterfly with a pencil step by step for beginners, in fact, at the beginning the butterfly is drawn quite simply, but with each stage it becomes more complicated. The important point is how you draw the wings of this beautiful creature. Naturally, after you have drawn a butterfly, you can decorate it, but little children love to do this. And I will demonstrate everything to you from the very beginning, we will naturally start with the torso.

There will be extraneous lines in the drawing, for a visual example, if you have some skill in drawing, then you don’t have to do these lines, so as not to erase them with an eraser later.

The beginning of the drawn butterfly is easy, as I said. We draw a vertical thin line and draw three oval figures, at the top is the head, which is more roundish, then the body, consisting of two parts.

Next step: we sketch the lower part of the body with small horizontal arcs. And below the first half of the body we draw the first parts of the wings. Thus, how to draw a butterfly is already drawn.

We connect the rays that look up on the wings with arcs next to the butterfly’s head. From the first half of the body I drew lines down, for clarity, you can see that the lower wings are drawn evenly.

The following drawn pictures of a butterfly already decorate it, and no main elements No. You can repeat after me or dream up your own imagination. We draw winding patterns on the wings; be sure to adhere to the symmetry of both wings, this is such a feature of butterflies in our world.
First, we draw the main patterns (lines).

Nature is a combination of different wonders and incredible beauty. Not only animals, but even small insects can be fascinating and unique. Yes, we're talking about about beautiful butterflies. Many artists like to pay special attention to the depiction of nature, but everyone needs to learn to also depict its small, but so beautiful elements. Some people collect butterflies, others take photographs of them, and we will show you how to draw a butterfly step by step.

What is needed for this:

  • A simple pencil (preferably hardness B);
  • paper;
  • eraser;
  • black gel pen (or thin marker);
  • colour pencils.

Let's consider drawing two butterflies at once, but you can choose one to draw.

Draw the contours of the butterfly by pressing down on the pencil.

Now we need to specify the shape of the wings. Try to draw them symmetrical. An exception is drawing a butterfly with raised wings (example - the butterfly on the left).

Now comes one of the important moments of drawing a butterfly with a pencil step by step: mark the patterns on the wings with a simple pencil. Take a black gel pen and draw or completely color in the body with antennae.

Now use a black helium pen to fill in the outlines of the butterfly patterns as shown in the picture. Try not to leave white spaces. If the question arises: why a gel pen or marker, then the answer is simple - the details will look more expressive and neater, which is difficult for beginners to achieve with a black pencil.

The most enjoyable stage of the work is coloring the butterfly wings. Choose any color or follow our example and the drawing is ready!

Now you know how to draw a butterfly with a pencil step by step, but we also offer you to watch a video on how to draw a butterfly in watercolor, which you will find in our other article at the link: (link). Creative success!

You can diversify your leisure time by drawing. The master's advice will help you learn how to draw beautifully with a pencil. By carefully reading the instructions and following the given instructions step by step, anyone, even a novice artist, can easily complete the task. And the end result will be a decent drawing.

Variety of butterflies

Scientists today describe about 200 thousand (!) species of butterflies. Outwardly they are all very different.

The variety of sizes, body shapes and wings, and colors is amazing. Nature painted butterflies with amazing imagination, using all kinds of colors, shades and their combinations, strict geometric shapes and intricate patterns. Therefore, the painter can safely use his imagination “to the fullest” and paint his butterfly as he pleases. The main thing is to be colorful and pleasing to the eye!

But there is one important feature, which the artist must take into account in order to know how to beautifully draw a butterfly. This is unusual, but absolutely symmetrical in size and identical in color - all the patterns are repeated exactly, down to the smallest detail, on each wing. Therefore, in the drawing, you should try to decorate both wings with the most identical patterns in shape and color.

How to draw a butterfly with a pencil step by step

We found out that the color of a butterfly is a matter of taste, and given the incredible variety of possible colors, there is no point in teaching this (there can be an infinite number of examples). Therefore, it is important for the artist first of all to know the pencil. For a beginning master, it would be correct to study the drawing technique in stages, step by step.

The simplest thing and the basis of all future drawings is a butterfly with open wings

We do not insist that the proposed drawing scheme is final. But in the process of mastering the skills of how to draw a butterfly with a pencil step by step, it will certainly provide a solid foundation and become a good helper for you.

Step 1. Since both sides of the butterfly are exactly the same, let's turn to geometry. Let's build a rectangle. Use lines to divide the rectangle into parts:

  • with a straight line we divide the rectangle equally vertically;
  • when dividing a straight line horizontally, the upper part of the rectangle should be made slightly narrower than the lower one;
  • through the intersection point of the horizontal and vertical straight lines, draw two lines from corner to corner (as shown in the figure).
  • since the horizontal straight line does not divide the rectangle into 2 equal parts (the top one is slightly narrower), the diagonal lines will not be straight, but will be slightly curved.

Step 2. At the base of the drawing we have 4 rectangles. Now we will work with the bottom 2. Let's divide their bases into 6 equal parts. On the left and right we mark 2/6 parts.

Let's connect the marked points with a straight line to the corresponding upper corners of the large (main) rectangle (as shown in the figure). We got an inverted trapezoid.

The basis for the lesson on how to draw a butterfly step by step is ready.

Draw the contours of the wings

Step 3. Draw the upper edge of the wings with a curved line from the intersection point of the vertical and horizontal lines of the main rectangle. We form the side edge of the wings along the upper part of the sides of the trapezoid.

We also draw the lower wings of the butterfly with curved lines of the shape we need - in the form of a drop of water, a rose petal or any other to your taste. You can diversify the ovals of the lower wings with additions in the form of spurs (similar wings with spurs to swallowtail swallowtails).

Step 4. Draw the body of the butterfly. To do this, draw a long, very narrow oval between the wings. Let's divide it into 3 sections. The upper section should be thickened a little - this is the head, the 2 lower parts of the body should be left narrow - this is the abdomen. Draw the eyes and antennae. We do not draw the legs, because in this position they are not visible.

Finding out step by step how to draw a butterfly with a pencil step by step, we have reached the finish line. From the sketch it is already easy to find out what kind of insect it is. Now our task is to make a full-fledged drawing from the sketch.

Making the butterfly natural

Step 5, final. The eraser removes all auxiliary lines. The edge of the wings can be given a smooth or jagged shape at the artist’s discretion. Inside the wings (along their entire length), draw veins with barely noticeable curved lines. Try to make them symmetrical. Add light shadow between the wings near the center of the body. Darken the edges of the wings a little.

Add decorations to the wings. To make them as identical as possible, each element of the pattern is first drawn on one wing, and then immediately on the second wing. If you decorate one wing completely at once, then it will be difficult to repeat in detail the masterly design on the second wing. Feel free to decorate your wings with a variety of geometric shapes, curls, squiggles, streaks and openwork.

Conclusion

If you did everything according to the instructions, then you should get a butterfly like in the last picture. Now you know how to draw a butterfly with a pencil step by step, and you can experiment with the sizes, shapes and colors of this amazing insect. Good luck!

Drawing a butterfly is not difficult if you break the whole process into stages. The main difficulty lies in drawing symmetrical parts, but if you follow the instructions, you will cope with this task.

Take a sheet and place it horizontally. A4-A3 format, depending on the size of the butterfly you are going to draw. We draw a vertical line in the center - the axis. We retreat 2 cm from the top edge and make a notch on the axis. We retreat 4 cm from the bottom edge and make another notch. Through the serifs on the axis we draw 2 lines parallel to the edge of the format.

Now we need to determine the wingspan of our butterfly. To the left and right of the axis, on the top line, we retreat 10-12 cm and put a point. On the bottom line we take 3-4 cm less and put dots.

Let's connect our dots and get a trapezoid. We erase the extra lines. The blank for the butterfly is ready, we don’t protrude beyond the edges, it’s not in vain that we built it.

Draw the body of the butterfly. Stepping back 4 cm from the edge of the trapezoid, draw a small circle on the axis - the head. Now we outline an oval - the body of the butterfly, from which the wings will grow. Oval 5-6 cm in height. Below is another oval - a tail, maybe very short - 3-4 cm, or you can draw a long one up to 10 cm.

We divide the butterfly's body into 3 parts. Draw a line through 2/3 of the body. We need to round the edges, draw two circles, the circle should touch the lines of our blank on 3 sides.

We finish drawing the upper wing, draw a line from the body to the circle.

Draw the lower wing. From the edge of the upper circle we draw a vertical line on both sides. In the marked area we write 2 circles smaller than the previous ones. We attach the lower wings, connecting the circles with lines to the body. Please note that the lower wings are attached to the body and not to the tail.

We erase the extra lines and draw the antennae. You can outline the eyes, nose, mouth. There are also veins on the wings. The size of the wings and shape can be changed as you please. The main thing is to understand general construction
