Historical moment

Back in the Middle Ages, ladies used such a convenient device that allowed them to remove their hair beautifully and maintain their hairstyle. This device was called “snood”. These devices were made of mesh or thick fabric. Then fashion forgot a little about this method of decorating and styling hair, but later, by the 40s of the twentieth century, they remembered it again and post-war beauties willingly used it.

Then there is a lull and here comes a new shot! Ladies and gentlemen, welcome snood! New in the fashion world! But now a snood is a scarf in the shape of a pipe that you can use to decorate your appearance and keep you warm. Moreover, you can put it on your head instead of a hat.

If we turn to the etymology of the concept, then this English word, which in literal translation means leash.

As was written above, the snood of medieval fashionistas was often made in the form of a mesh. Today, little has changed in this regard. A stylish and modern snood can be knitted with a mesh pattern. Let's figure out how to do this!

Spectacular grid pattern

Let's look at the knitting pattern and description of the process of knitting snood, new for 2017, which is made with a mesh pattern. This is one of the simplest and most effective patterns. It can be used for knitting even by those craftswomen who are just beginning to communicate with knitting needles and a ball.

To work we need:

  1. A skein or two of yarn 100 grams. The length of the thread can be any, as the craftswoman wishes, but you should not take too thick yarn. On average, you can take a thread of 200 or 300 meters per 100 gram skein.
  2. Knitting needles. It must be a couple regular knitting needles. You can use wooden or metal knitting needles. You should not take plastic ones, as they can bend under the weight of the product. You can use short metal knitting needles with wire extensions and a closed tip. Then you won’t have to lift the entire volume of the snood while knitting. She will lie on her knees. These knitting needles are convenient if you need to knit a wide item. The number of knitting needles depends on what yarn is chosen for knitting. On average, these are needles number 3.

Let's start the workflow:

  1. You need to cast on the knitting needles the desired number of stitches. Their number depends on how wide the snood is needed. Before starting knitting, you can knit a test sample of 20 loops and 20 rows and calculate the required number of loops for the product. Important! The number of loops must be even.
  2. We knit the first front row and all subsequent front rows like this: edge, *1 yarn over and 2 loops together*. Repeat from * to * until the end of the row and finish with the edge stitch.
  3. Purl rows all with purl loops, including yarn overs.
  4. Nothing complicated, everything is extremely simple, and this pattern makes it possible to knit a stylish and fashionable accessory very quickly.
  5. To knit any snood, it is important to understand the principle: you need to knit a wide rectangular scarf and sew the ends, closing the product into a ring.

So, you can use absolutely any pattern for a snood; you can combine several patterns in one product. You can knit a snood using knitting needles from the new 2017 models, the knitting patterns and descriptions of which are below.

Warm and thick thread

Today, any knitted items made from thick, coarse-knit yarn are very popular. Snood is exactly what thick yarn can be useful for in the first place. There are even knitted snood models, new for 2017, made from very thick yarn that can be knitted by hand, without using knitting needles, knitting patterns and description below.

A very voluminous snood made of thick yarn can be knitted in half an hour. For this you only need yarn. This is a special thread with a meter of 40 meters in a 100 gram skein. For one winding you need 4 such skeins.

Let's get started:

  1. You need to measure 4 identical pieces of thread with a total length of 3 meters.
  2. Make a loop and thread it through left hand, hanging the loop on your wrist.
  3. We cast on another 11 loops on the hand as on a knitting needle, more is possible, but not much.
  4. Next we knit like this: you need to hold the working thread in your right hand. We remove the first loop from the left hand and thread the working thread into it, hang a new loop on right hand. So we knit all the remaining loops from the left hand.
  5. We knit the subsequent rows in the same way, just change hands. Everything is the same as when knitting, only we use our own hands as the tool.
  6. We close the loops by knitting only 2 loops in the same way, as when working with knitting needles.
  7. Now you need to connect the ends. Fold the snood in half and thread the thread through both ends. We tie a knot and hide the ends.

This is an ultra-fashionable accessory that can be made very quickly and will last a long time, warming in the cold and decorating its owner.

It can be:

  • stockinet;
  • rice or pearl pattern;
  • braids and plaits.
  • alpaca;
  • merino;
  • acrylic in combination with any wool.

You can choose a larger number of knitting needles for snood so that the fabric of the product is soft and drapes well when worn.

Now let's look at snood knitting, new items for 2017 made from thick yarn and knitting patterns.

This snood fashionable color“Tiffany” is knitted from Bernat Mega Bulky yarn (300 meters in a 50 gram skein, 100% acrylic) on circular needles No. 19, 75 cm long. The product requires 3 skeins.

The knitting pattern is as follows:

  1. We put 36 loops on the knitting needles and immediately connect them into a circular row.
  2. We knit the first 5 rows with an elastic band 2 by 2 in a circle.
  3. Next we knit 5 more rows with facial loops.
  4. Then we alternate rows of purl and knit stitches to a height of 43 centimeters.
  5. Now again 5 rows with facial loops.
  6. Next we knit 6 rows using purl stitches only.
  7. We close all the loops.

This is a very stylish and easy-to-make snood, which does not even require sewing the ends together, as it is made in a circle.

Thin thread for snood

Knitted products from fine wool thread They will be very warm, tender and beautiful.

Here you can choose any patterns:

  • braids and aranas;
  • openwork with holes;
  • any combination of patterns.

A thin thread gives room for imagination; you can choose one of the patterns and knit the entire snood with it, or you can make a combination of ornaments, for example, we knit half of the scarf with an elastic band or a rice pattern, and the other half with openwork or braids.

To work we need:

  1. Yarn with wool content and 300 meters per 100 grams. You need 2 - 3 skeins.
  2. Knitting needles No. 3.5 or 4.
  3. A needle with a thick eye to sew a seam.

Let's get started:

  1. We cast on the knitting needles the required number of loops. We calculate them according to the report on the diagram and based on the desired width of the snood.
  2. We knit a straight fabric according to the pattern to the desired length.
  3. When you have knitted as many rows as needed for the length of the snood, close the loops and sew the ends.

Thus, you can associate any snood with any chosen pattern.

Here are a few more photos of knitted snood models and new products for 2017 and knitting patterns for them.

Snood yarn review

IN Lately stylists suggest complementing the look with a scarf - snood is not only for the autumn or winter season. Spring and summer also allow you to use this versatile accessory.

But the choice of yarn for the warm and cold seasons will be different.

For the autumn-winter season you need to use yarn containing wool. It could be:

  1. Pure wool: alpaca, merino, angora. Today there are manufacturers who make very soft and delicate thread. Such yarn can be found in the line of Turkish and domestic manufacturers and from Italians.
  2. Combined composition: wool with acrylic, viscose or silk.
  3. Mohair or kid mohair. It is always made on the basis of acrylic or silk.

You can use a completely synthetic thread - acrylic.

When choosing yarn for spring or summer snood with knitting needles (knitting patterns and new items for 2017 below), you need to give preference to the following thread composition:

  1. Cotton. It can be pure cotton or with the addition of acrylic, viscose, or linen.
  2. Pure viscose or silk. A snood knitted from such threads will decorate any outfit, even an evening one. Viscose, of course, is cheaper.
  3. Here are the new 2017 knitting snood models (photos and knitting patterns) for the spring – summer season.

Here is a description of an excellent snood for spring and summer “Blackberry”. For its execution, yarn made of cotton, viscose or acrylic in three pastel shades is suitable: milky, blackberry, blue.

The scheme of operation is very simple:

  1. We put the required number of loops on the knitting needles and knit the first row with all the purl loops.
  2. Next, we knit the blackberries, knitting 3 loops together, purlwise.
  3. Then again a row of purl stitches.
  4. So we alternate the rows until we knit the desired length of the snood.
  5. Close the loops, fold the scarf in half and sew the ends together.

Palette for fashionable snood

The color of the accessories also plays a special role. When choosing yarn for knitting a snood with knitting needles from the new products of 2017, you need to pay attention not only to the composition, but also to the color number, which is indicated on the packaging. This season, stylists and designers offer the following color palette for scarves and snoods:

  • grey;
  • blue;
  • unique color “Tiffany”;
  • lilac;
  • pink;
  • yellow and others.

All shades that are popular now are whitened, blurred, become pastel and not bright.

But there are also those that can be juicy and bright in knitted accessories:

  • dark red, burgundy;
  • chocolate;
  • black;
  • orange;
  • green.

In general, the palette is wide, everyone will find a suitable shade for themselves. It is important that it is in harmony with the appearance and image as a whole. If blondes bright eyes Pastel colors are perfect, but brunettes should choose bright shades.

One of the new products can be called knitted snoods and scarves with a smooth transition of colors from one shade to another. In one product you can combine 2 - 3 different colors, making a smooth transition.

You can combine:

  • gray and white (milky);
  • pink and gray;
  • pink, turquoise, white;
  • yellow and lilac;
  • red and gray (or black);
  • yellow and gray;
  • lilac, azure and milky;
  • salmon and gray;
  • red and dark green.

You can invent your own combinations of shades, the main thing is that they are in harmony with each other and with the image as a whole.

Moreover, today many manufacturers have such yarn and different composition(cotton, acrylic, wool) which is already dyed in a special way. It is sold marked “batik” and is painted sectionally, which gives the effect of a transition of shades into finished product. For snoods and scarves, this is simply an irreplaceable option if you need to create a bright and fashionable decor.

Arranging the snood correctly

Snood is the most versatile thing you can imagine. Every fashionista can have several of these comfortable scarves for every occasion. These can be warm snoods to be worn over a coat, fur coat, jacket, or raincoat. If desired, you can also cover your head from the cold.

KNITTING! SIMPLY AND QUICKLY KNIT A FASHIONABLE SNUD (scarf)

Snood, a foreign fashionable word that today means a tube scarf, has long since taken root in our Russian reality and is so loved by fashionistas and needlewomen. The word itself and the accessory it denotes, of course. A cozy and stylish knitted snood (knitting patterns, new items for 2017 are given in the article below) has not left the catwalks for several seasons in a row and is in demand in everyday, Everyday life. Let's consider which models are relevant today, what yarn is used and how to knit this stylish and practical accessory, how and with what to wear it. Here are several diagrams and descriptions of various models.

Snood knitting needles

Thick yarn snood

In the cold season, knitted clothing and accessories made from bulky thick yarn look relevant and stylish. Snood is no exception. Such a thread in this product will give the scarf greater coziness and warmth. You can use thread to knit a snood from pure wool.

Today there are quite soft and not at all scratchy options for winter natural yarn. Such as:

  • merino;
  • alpaca;
  • mink fluff.

You can choose a thread with a combined composition. The simplest is wool with acrylic, but today there are options for very soft thread, which includes wool and silk, for example.

A thread with a meter of 100 or 200 meters in a 100 gram skein will be considered bulky. There are options for super thick yarn. Its length will be about 35-40 meters in a skein, weighing 100 grams. These are Alize Country New, Nako Lora and others. Knitting a snood from such yarn will literally be a matter of minutes. But the scarf will turn out to be quite voluminous and heavy, although very stylish and fashionable.

For such a trumpet-shaped scarf, you should use a regular garter stitch, or a pearl pattern: alternating knit and purl stitches.

To knit a snood with knitting needles from thick yarn, you should use simple patterns and knitting patterns, and to make it easier to decide on the model, you can see the photos of new products for 2017 below.

Made from fine yarn

Knitted items made from thin thread look gentle and airy. Using more than 200 meters of yarn in a 100 gram skein, you can safely use openwork patterns or braids for the product. For those who want to knit a stylish trumpet-shaped scarf with their own hands, we advise you to study the description and knitting patterns for the new 2017 snoods using thin yarn knitting needles, which are given below.

Description of a snood model made of thin yarn, knitted lengthwise. This is an airy, wide snood with a mesh pattern. In general, initially the word snood meant a special mesh for support long hair. It was worn by ladies of all classes starting from the 7th century. During the Second World War, this accessory gained particular popularity, and today this word is called a scarf.

To work on a snood made with a mesh pattern, you will need:

  • Half-wool yarn, 300 meters per meter, 100g.
  • Knitting needles (the number recommended by the yarn manufacturer on the label, for this yardage it can be No. 3-3.5)

Cast on the needles even number loops Their total number depends on the desired width of the product. Next, you need to distribute the loops like this: 1 edge loop, 4 edge loops, which will always be knitted with knit stitches, then the loops of the main pattern and on the other edge, 4 edge loops (knit stitches) and an edge loop.

Main mesh pattern:

  1. 1st row (front): 2 loops together, yarn over. Repeat this until the end.
  2. Row 2 (purl) purl all stitches and yarn overs.

This is a very simple but effective pattern. If you knit a snood from melange or sectional yarn, you will get a unique, stylish and bright accessory. And the monochromatic version will be very good.

For a snood made of fine yarn, you can use any pattern you like: openwork or braids and their combination.

From colored yarn

Recently, many interesting options threads for hand knitting, which are distinguished by a riot of colors and interesting transitions colors. For accessories, this is a godsend. If you want to add a bright spot to your look, then you can safely buy melange yarn or section-dyed yarn. These types of threads differ from each other in the way they are dyed and in the way the thread looks in the product.

Melange yarn involves uneven inclusions various shades into the main fiber of a yarn of a certain color. Section-dyed yarn involves a smooth transition from one shade to another; as a rule, it combines several perfectly combined shades. The product will look like stripes different color seems to be associated with the use of several types of yarn. This is a very good option for scarves of any model.

Yarn from Alize marked batik is just a thread with sectional coloring. It can be either wool or cotton. Other manufacturers and famous brands They also offer sectionals and melange.

Wool, cotton or acrylic

Using the given diagrams and descriptions of new 2017 models for knitting snoods, you can make them from yarn of any composition. Wool, cotton, and acrylic are suitable for such an accessory. The choice of thread depends on the purpose of the scarf.

If the snood is intended to be worn solely for warmth in winter or autumn time years, then you should give preference to wool yarn, possibly with the addition of acrylic. If you need a voluminous, wide and airy snood, then you can choose acrylic for its execution. It will just add volume to the product and will not weigh it down.

A cotton snood will be an excellent addition to your look; it can be worn on warm autumn days and in spring, not only for warmth, but simply for beauty. For knitting from cotton thread, not very wide and rather long snoods are suitable.

Cozy mohair and angora

Using fluffy yarn for this accessory is not always justified, but if you add a thin mohair or angora yarn to the main thread for knitting a snood, you can achieve the effect of a cozy and warm winter scarf, where you can hide your nose from the frost and cover your head. Such a snood will be very warm and airy, because the fluffy threads are almost completely weightless.

Knit along or across

A tube scarf can be knitted lengthwise and crosswise. The main thing is to close it into a ring. Below are photos of the new 2017 snoods, descriptions and knitting patterns for the model that is knitted lengthwise and the one that is knitted crosswise.

In order to knit a snood with a cross braid pattern, you will need:

  1. Cast on the required number of stitches on the knitting needles. We calculate the loops taking into account the desired width of the snood. In this case, for the edges on each side you will need 7 loops (1 edge and 6 elastic loops) and for the central braid 13 loops.
  2. We distribute the loops on the pattern in this way: 7 loops for the edge, any number of loops for the front stitch, 13 loops for the braid, again the required number of loops for the front surface and 7 loops for the edge.
  3. We knit the edges alternating 2 rows of stockinette stitch and 2 rows of purl stitches.
  4. Description of the braid pattern: for a braid you will need to knit 2 loops with purls, then the entire braid with knits and again 2 loops with purls. The front loops of the braid are conventionally divided into 3 parts of 3 loops each. Every 4 rows you need to cross first right side with the middle one, leaving it on the additional knitting needle while working. Then, again after 4 rows, cross the left side of the braid with the middle one, leaving it on an additional knitting needle before working. And so on until the entire length of the snood is knitted.
  5. Connect the edges of the snood with a seam.

Another model of snood, knitted crosswise, will look very interesting on the neck in a few turns. In order to make such a snood on knitting needles, you will need to cast on the number of loops required for the width of the scarf and knit half of its length with a 2*2 elastic band. Next, use any openwork pattern, such as diamonds or just a mesh. And make the second half of the snood with exactly this pattern. Sew the edges. For a greater contrast effect, you can use different color yarn for two half snoods or for the one where the elastic band is variegated, melange yarn, and for the pattern - plain, one of the shades that is present in the companion yarn.

Snood lengthwise, that is, from the bottom up, can be knitted on circular knitting needles so that there is no seam, or on regular stocking needles, then you will have to join the edges. Thus, it is better to knit a snood that is not very wide, which does not need to be re-twisted around the head. You can choose any pattern for knitting. First you need to knit a few rows of elastic, then the main pattern and finish knitting with an elastic band. Moreover, a snood knitted in this way can not be connected into a ring, but can be supplemented with a button closure or a zipper.

Snood with eight

You can get a rather interesting and stylish accessory if you use one trick. In the process of knitting a snood, you need to twist the fabric and after that connect the snood into a ring. So any snood can be made unusual. This technique looks very good on those models that are made with a simple English elastic band and are not very long.

Combination of patterns and textures

A knitted snood is usually worn wrapped twice around the neck. If you tie a snood halfway simple pattern, without openwork, for example, pearl or 2x2 elastic, and the second half with openwork or, using a different color, then putting it on your neck you will get an interesting combination of pattern and color.

Pearl Pattern:

  1. 1 row (front) 1 edge loop, * 1 front loop, 1 purl loop *, edge loop. Repeat from * to *.
  2. So we alternate the rows.

Elastic band 2*2:

  1. 1st row (front): edge loop, * 2 knit loops, 2 purl loops *, edge loop. Repeat from * to *.
  2. Row 2 (purl): knit the loops according to the pattern.

Extravagant models

For those who like to surprise, snood models with buttons or zippers are suitable. These details will complement the seemingly ordinary knitted scarf and add some spice to the look.

Snood - a collar with buttons is knitted without closing into a ring as it is not long but wide scarf on one side you need to sew several buttons along the entire edge, and on the other - loops and you can fasten them however you like: evenly, through one, retreating 2 or 3 buttons from one edge. So you can change the look just by fastening the scarf differently.

A snood with a zipper looks very stylish and modern. It can be sewn on top of an already knitted snood, just as decorative element, or sew into the edges and leave the fastening function. This way you can not zip up the zipper all the way and play with the look. In this case, it makes sense to choose a zipper in a contrasting shade in relation to the color of the scarf.

Snood from a designer fashion house

Many myrrh couturiers are offering snood this season as a must-have wardrobe item. For example, brands such as Chanel, D&G, Vercace and others.

  1. This season, Chanel offers its fans an amazing snood made of soft viscose of blue color. The designers of this house believe that this accessory should be lightweight and made of thin knitted fabric. They can complement a raincoat or coat.
  2. D&G included a scarf ring in pastel and beige shades in their collection. It is made in the shape of a figure eight and is quite voluminous and warm. It contains acrylic, wool and alpaca. This snood is narrow and long; it can be worn either in one turn and all the way down, or in several turns around the neck.
  3. The snood from Vercace is made of yarn containing acrylic, wool and alpaca. It is soft and gentle. Color pink. There is nothing pretentious or flashy about him, he is calm and noble. Suitable for any outerwear. Warm and cozy, this accessory will highlight your sense of style.

All designer models are very expensive and beyond the means of many, but armed with a pair of knitting needles and a skein of yarn, you can create something similar and even better. Knitting such an accessory will not take much time, and it will be worn and served faithfully for a long time.

What and how to wear it with?

Snood is a universal scarf model that can be used with any outerwear. The main thing is to maintain balance color palette. Moreover, it can be worn over a sweater, jumper or turtleneck. With a vest or jacket. It all depends on the overall style and image. This model is also convenient because in the cold season, without wearing a hat, you can, if desired, throw a snood over your head. In general, snood is a thing that you should definitely have in your wardrobe.

It's no secret that a scarf, snood, collar, and scarf look very beautiful on children large knit, on thick knitting needles. This cool children's snood collar is very easy to knit with knitting needles for a child using thick yarn. We believe that a snood collar around the neck is quite suitable for a teenage girl. Even if you have never tried knitting, this is a good opportunity to knit fashionable scarf snood We tried to give an explanation of knitting step by step.

This snood scarf or snood collar is knitted from thick Phil Baltazar yarn (60% acrylic, 40% wool, 200 g/117 m). Snood has 3 sizes, for different ages:

  • For a child from three to five years old, the snood size is 22 centimeters wide and 66 centimeters long.
  • For a child from five to ten years old - 22 centimeters wide and 70 centimeters long.
  • For a teenager - 22 cm width and 75 cm length.

The simplest knitting is garter knitting, that is, we knit only with knit stitches. Snood knitting density: 10 cm, knitted in garter stitch = 9 loops/19 rows.

To work you will need:

  1. Yarn (1-1-2 skeins).
  2. Knitting needles 8 mm thick.
  3. 4 large buttons with a diameter of 20 mm
  4. 6 large buttons with a diameter of 9mm.

Cast on 22 stitches on the needles. Knit with knit 1) 66 cm, 2) 70 cm, 3) 75 cm. That is, the width is the same for all sizes, only the length differs. If possible, estimate the length for the child (the snood should overlap). Close the loops of the snood. We sew 4 buttons, retreating 3 rows from the edge of the snood, check that the distance between the buttons is the same. Separate 3 loops from the top and bottom from the edge. We form the buttons on the bevel after we have figured out the “overlapping” crossing. We place a button under each button, and we also sew buttons on the bottom fabric. At the back, we pick up the collar flap with an invisible seam.

Here is another similar snood, only with one button. The yarn is very bulky (80% acrylic, 20% wool, 100 m/170 grams).

The yarn is like this, very thick:

In order not to make mistakes in the calculations, you need to cast on 20 loops on knitting needles 9 mm thick, knit 10 rows, and see how many loops are contained in 10 cm. This way we will find out how many loops to cast on the knitting needles.

To work you will need:

  1. Bulk yarn - 1 skein.
  2. Circular knitting needles 9 mm thick.
  3. Button - 1, diameter 20 mm.
  4. Buttons - 3 pcs.

The width of the scarf is 22 centimeters, length is 66 cm. In order to knit this children's scarf, you need to cast on approximately 65 loops on the knitting needles. This snood scarf is more convenient to knit on circular knitting needles, as it is knitted wide. But if you don’t have circular knitting needles, try knitting with regular knitting needles, but you’ll end up with tight knitting. We cast on 65 loops (the number depends on the thickness of the yarn), and knit 15 rows in garter stitch (knit). Close the loops, sew on the button and internal buttons.

Another snood scarf that can be knitted is a snood with a lapel. We knit from thick Lion Brand yarn (80% acrylic, 20% wool, 100 m/160 g. Snood width - 22 cm, length - 66 cm.

To work you will need:

  1. Yarn - 1.5 skeins.
  2. Buttons - 4 pieces.
  3. Buttons - 4 pieces.

Cast on 22 stitches and knit 8 rows in garter stitch (knit).

9th row: knit,
10th row: purl,
11th row: purl 22 stitches, add 1 loop.
12th row: knit 23 stitches.
13th row: purl 23 stitches, add 1 loop.
Row 14: purl 24 stitches, and so on.

Increase until there are 33 stitches on the needles. The lapel can be knitted in garter stitch, or with a 2/2 rib, like the bottom of a scarf. We knit up to the 48th row, this is the middle of our scarf, and then we knit in a mirror sequence. Make sure both halves are symmetrical. Close the knitting. Sew on buttons and internal snaps.

Knitting with knitting needles great option snood-collar. The pattern consists of alternating knit and purl stitches, the diagram is attached. Such a collar can be worn downwards, around the neck, under a jacket, or up - over the hood. Such a collar is especially relevant in winter, in frosty weather - this way the lower part of the child’s face will not freeze.

To work you will need:

  1. Woolen yarn Baby Wool (200 m / 50 g) - 2 skeins.
  2. Circular knitting needles 4 mm. You can knit on simple ones (3.5 mm), and then sew the fabric.

If you knit a collar on knitting needles 3.5 mm thick, then the number of loops increases. The width of the snood collar is 52 cm, its height is 24.5 cm. If you want, you can tie it higher - it all depends on whether it is comfortable for the child. Height 24.5 is the best option.

Cast on 80 stitches and knit according to the pattern:

1st row: knit 1, purl 1, knit 1, purl 1. - repeat until the end of the row.
2nd row: k1, p1, k1, p1. - repeat until the end.
Row 3: P1, k1, p1, k1. - repeat until the end.
Row 4: P1, k1, p1, k1. - repeat.

Then repeat again like the 1st row. The result is a “tangle” pattern. If you knit on circular needles, mark the beginning of the row with a pin. Next, we repeat our knitting to the height we need (we measure with a ruler or meter). In this collar model, you need to knit up to 21 cm (58 rows), and then knit with an elastic band 2/2 (k2, p2) another 3.5 cm (7 rows). We finish knitting the collar and close the loops.

We think that we will not reveal the secret if we say that a scarf or shawl with long stripes is the hit of the season. The strips can be knitted to any length you like. We sew the strips to the scarf at the end of the work. They can be narrow or wide. The stripes usually end in tassels or fluffy pom-poms.

How to make tassels for such a scarf? Take a cardboard of the required size, stretch a thread over the top, and wind the required amount of yarn on it - the more threads, the more magnificent the tassel. Next, we tie the top thread tighter, and make another tie lower, also tighten it. Cut the bottom of the tassel with scissors.
