Don't be too naughty!

Mother(Masha)
Look after Vanyatka,
You're already big.

Father
Don't go outside the gate.
Do you hear, I forbid it!

Mother
From merchants from distant countries
We'll buy you new ones.
Masha - silk for a sundress,
Vanya - a new belt!

Father
Be smart, daughter,
Take care of Vanyusha.
We're hitting the road.

Vanechka comes out of the hut and hugs his mother. She strokes his head.

Mother
Vanya, listen to Masha!

Mother and father go to the forest and hide behind the trees. Vanechka sits down near the house.

Masha(yawning)
Oh, and it's boring at the gate
I should sit idle.
As if to the girls in a round dance
I wanted to go!
I'll go away for an hour,
Mom won't know.

Masha leaves the hut and gives her brother a cockerel on a stick.

Masha
Look, cockerel
It flies above you!
I went, and you sit
Quietly under the window.
Do not go anywhere
And don't torture the cat.

Vanya takes the cockerel, and Masha goes to the edge of the forest.

Masha(sings)
Across the river all year round
The girls lead a round dance.
And how will they sing the song,
The legs dance on their own!
Where are you guys grooms,
Harmonists, shepherds?
Come quickly
It will be more fun with you!

Masha hides in the forest, and after a while Baba Yaga peeks out from behind the trees.

Baba Yaga
And the boy - nothing,
I'll start a party!
Hey, where are you, grab him
And to my hut!

Baba Yaga hides, two swan geese come out from behind the trees and go to Vanechka.

Swan geese(sing in chorus)

Two cheerful geese.
One is a duck, the other is a swan -
Two cheerful geese!

The geese stop not far from the hut.

The first goose-swan
Hello, Vanya my friend!
Do you want to go for a ride?
Come out to our meadow,
Let's have fun!

The swan geese begin to dance.

Swan geese(sing in chorus)
Oh, the geese are gone
Granny will cook us!
One is a woodpecker, the other is an eagle owl,
He'll cook it if we miss it!

Second goose-swan(Vanechka)
Hey, why are you sitting there?
Come out quickly!
Well, come to us, baby,
More fun together!

Vanechka throws the cockerel and approaches the swan geese. They immediately grab him and drag him into the forest. Vanechka laughs.

Swan geese(sing in chorus)
Two cheerful geese
Vanya won't be bitten!
One is a stork, the other is an ostrich -
They'll take it to grandma!

Geese-swans are hiding behind the trees. Soon Masha appears from there and goes to the house.

Masha
I need to hurry home
So as not to be scolded.
Otherwise they will start sewing
A sundress, hardly.
Dear brother, answer me,
Don't scare your sister.
It really doesn't exist, it seems.
What could have happened?

Masha picks up the feather of the swan goose.

Masha(horrified)
Oh, that's a problem!
The first swan goose peeks out from behind the trees.

All! We ran away!

The swan goose disappears, Masha goes to the forest.

Masha
What should I do now?
What will I tell my mom?
I just walked out the door,
Vanya was dragged away!
How can I find him now?
For me in the world?
Father and mother will not forgive,
What did I miss!
Well, maybe I won’t get there
In the clutches of the miracle.
If I find my brother,
They won't scold you!

Masha is hiding behind the trees. The house disappears. A stove appears on the right.

Masha comes out from behind the trees on the left and goes to the stove.

Masha
I've been walking here all day -
All pine trees and spruces.
Oven, tell me where
Have the geese flown?

Stove
My rye pies
You try it first.

Masha
Don't want! I don't eat those!
That I'm a fool to
There is rye when we have
Don't eat donuts?
Answer right now -
Where can I look for my brother?

Stove
My rye pie
You try it first.

Masha
Well, you can't be like that
Stove die-hard!
I'll run further into the forest.

Try the apple!

Masha(indignantly)
Yes, it's grass!
That I'm a fool to
It's wild when we have
Can't eat pears?
Answer me right now
Where can I look for my brother?

Apple tree
If you don't eat it, I won't tell you!

Masha
Oh, that's what you are!
Here I'll show you -
I'll break off the branches!

Kiselka try it
Drink some milk, Masha...

Masha
That I'm a fool to
There is jelly when we have
Can't eat cream?
Answer me right now
Where can I look for my brother?

River
I'll tell you, and you're a jelly
Eat it with milk!

Masha
Well, have you all agreed?
Pies and pears
And now milk!
I do not want and I will not!
Tell me how far away
Is Vanya from here?
Okay, no time with you
I have to mess around now!
The sun is high in the sky,
We must hurry!

We'll return home.
Mom will bake a loaf of bread,
Let's drink some cream!
The folder from the fair carries
Boots for you
And with you he will save us
It's from Grandma Eshka!

Masha and Vanechka are hiding in the forest. After some time, Baba Yaga comes out of it and goes to her hut.

Baba Yaga
I'll light the oven now,
It will be a great dinner!
Only fry or bake
Vanka, it’s not clear!

Oh, he will put us to death!

Baba Yaga
Let's go, everyone! Find
And return it back!
Otherwise I'll pluck you
I command! It's clear?
They won't get far

In the clutches of the miracle.
If I find my brother,
They won't scold you!

Masha is hiding behind the trees. The house disappears. A stove appears on the right.

Masha comes out from behind the trees on the left and goes to the stove.

I've been walking here all day -
All pine trees and spruces.
Oven, tell me where
Have the geese flown?

My rye pies
You try it first.

Don't want! I don't eat those!
That I'm a fool to
There is rye when we have
Don't eat donuts?
Answer right now -
Where can I look for my brother?

My rye pie
You try it first.

Well, you can't be like that
Stove die-hard!
I'll run further into the forest.
Someone will respect -
Where to look for Baba Yaga,
He'll just tell me that!

Masha is hiding behind the stove. The stove disappears. An apple tree appears instead.

Masha appears from behind the trees on the left.

What a misfortune, what a disaster!
The mosquitoes are stuck!
Apple tree, tell me where
Have the geese flown?

I'll tell you, but you first
Try the apple!

Masha (indignantly)

Yes, it's grass!
That I'm a fool to
It's wild when we have
Can't eat pears?
Answer me right now
Where can I look for my brother?

If you don't eat it, I won't tell you!

Oh, that's what you are!
Here I'll show you -
I'll break off the branches!
I'll run further into the forest.
Someone will respect -
Where to look for Baba Yaga,
He'll just tell me that!

Masha is hiding behind an apple tree. The apple tree disappears. Instead, a river appears.

Masha comes out from behind the trees on the left.

Hey, sour shores,
Milk river,
Tell me, where is Yaga?
There is urgent business for her!

I'll tell you, but bye
Kiselka try it
Drink some milk, Masha...

That I'm a fool to
There is jelly when we have
Can't eat cream?
Answer me right now
Where can I look for my brother?

I'll tell you, and you're a jelly
Eat it with milk!

Well, have you all agreed?
Pies and pears
And now milk!
I do not want and I will not!
Tell me how far away
Is Vanya from here?
Okay, no time with you
I have to mess around now!
The sun is high in the sky,
We must hurry!

Masha is hiding behind the river. The river disappears. Masha appears again from behind the trees on the left.

There's no one here at all!

A hedgehog comes out to the right.

Hedgehog, where is Vanyusha?
But keep in mind that nothing
I won't eat!

Straight ahead, Mashenka, go
Along that path.
You'll meet on the way soon
House on chicken legs.

Baba Yaga comes out of the hut with Vanechka.

Geese-swans, come to me!
Where the hell are you?

Geese-swans peek out from behind the trees on the left.

Second goose-swan (to the first)

Oh, we're all going to burn in flames!
Oh, he'll throw us into the cauldron!

Stop wagging your tongue
I need to run errands.
Don't take your eyes off the boy!

The first swan goose approaches Baba Yaga and caresses her.

The first goose-swan

We are happy to serve!

Baba Yaga gives Vanechka a printed gingerbread. On the left, Masha peeks out from behind the trees.

Eat it, Vanechka son,
Printed gingerbread cookies.
Get fat quickly
You will have a great dinner!

Masha (to the side)

What did Yaga think?
He wants to eat his brother!

Baba Yaga (hut)

Hey chicken leg
Wait for the hostess by nightfall!

Masha hides behind the trees, and Baba Yaga heads towards her.

Baba Yaga (singing)

I'm on the forest grass
I'll go for a ride!
On a hill under a pine tree
I'll lie around!
Everyone who is mother and father
Won't listen
I'll catch you behind the porch
Yes, and I’ll eat it!

Baba Yaga is hiding behind the trees on the left. After a while, Masha peeks out from behind the trees.

Vanechka (laughs)

Geese-geese!

Geese-swans (in chorus)

Second goose-swan (to the first)

Shall we chase Vanka?

The first goose-swan

We'd better fly to the meadows,
Let's parrot the girls!

Second goose-swan

The hour is not even, he will run away,
No matter how we get eaten.

The first goose-swan

What, are you afraid? Is your tail shaking?

Second goose-swan

Okay, let's fly!

Mashenka is hiding, the swan geese are heading towards the forest.

Geese-swans (singing in chorus)

Lived with grandma
Two cheerful geese!
One Chizhik, the other Pyzhik -
Two cheerful geese!

Geese-swans are hiding behind the trees. Vanechka looks around. Throws the gingerbread and starts crying. Masha runs out of the forest, grabs her brother and runs back.

Ooty, little one, don't cry,
We'll return home.
Mom will bake a loaf of bread,
Let's drink some cream!
The folder from the fair carries
Boots for you
And with you he will save us
It's from Grandma Eshka!

Masha and Vanechka are hiding in the forest. After some time, Baba Yaga comes out of it and goes to her hut.

I'll light the oven now,
It will be a great dinner!
Only fry or bake
Vanka, it’s not clear!

Baba Yaga looks around and discovers that she is missing.

Baba Yaga (menacing)

Geese-swans, here!
Where are the devils taking you?

Frightened swan geese peek out from behind the trees.

Second goose-swan

Oh! Trouble, trouble, trouble!
Oh, he will put us to death!

Let's go, everyone! Find
And return it back!
Otherwise I'll pluck you
I command! It's clear?
They won't get far
The sun is setting!
If you can't find it,
It's up to you to cook in the soup!

Baba Yaga goes into the house. Geese-swans go to the forest and hide behind the trees on the left. Baba Yaga's hut disappears. A river appears on the left.

Masha and Vanechka come out from behind the trees on the right and hurry to the river, looking back all the time.

Mother River, forgive me,
What a rude thing I was!
Protect from pursuit!

I forgave a long time ago.
I'll hide you, and you're jelly
Eat it with milk!

Masha eats jelly. Geese-swans appear from behind the trees.

The first goose-swan

There they are! Grab 'em all
And take it to dry land!

Masha and Vanechka are hiding behind the river. Geese-swans run up and begin to look around.

Second goose-swan

We were just here
And where did they go?

The first goose-swan

Apparently they ran into the forest,
So they were scared!

Geese-swans disappear behind the river. Masha and Vanechka immediately appear from behind her.

Masha (with a bow)

Mother River, for you
Thank you from the bottom of my heart!

Geese-geese! Be-be-be!
There are such fish there!

Masha and Vanechka are hiding behind the river. The river disappears. An apple tree appears in its place.

Masha and Vanechka again run out from behind the trees on the right and run to the apple tree.

I'm sorry, apple tree,
What a rude thing I was!
Protect from pursuit!

I forgave a long time ago.
I'll hide you, but you're mine
Take a bite of the apple!

Masha eats an apple. Geese-swans appear from behind the trees.

The first goose-swan

There they are! Grab 'em
And to Yaga for dinner!

Masha and Vanechka are hiding behind an apple tree. Geese-swans run up and begin to look around.

Second goose-swan

We were just here
And where did they go?

The first goose-swan

Apparently they ran into the forest!
We sneaked up badly!

Geese-swans disappear behind an apple tree. Masha and Vanechka immediately appear from behind her.

Masha (with a bow)

My light, apple tree, to you
My bow to the earth!

Geese-geese! Be-be-be!
We're almost home!

Masha and Vanechka are hiding behind an apple tree. The apple tree disappears. A stove appears in its place.

Masha and Vanechka again come out from behind the trees on the right and run towards her.

Dear stove, I'm sorry,
What a rude thing I was!
Protect from pursuit!

I forgave a long time ago.
I'll hide it, just the pie
Take a bite of my rye!

Masha takes the pie and gives it to Vanechka.

Eat, Vanechka, my friend,
And listen to your sister!

Geese-swans appear from behind the trees.

The first goose-swan (whispers to the second)

Be quiet, otherwise you'll scare me away
Yes, bend down lower.

The second swan goose rushes forward.

Second goose-swan (loud)

You're lying, girl, you won't leave!
I see you! I see!

Masha and Vanechka are hiding behind the stove. Geese-swans run up and begin to look around.

The first goose-swan

It's all because of you!
Why did you open your beak?

Second goose-swan (crying)

Oh, how I feel sorry for myself!

The first goose-swan (with annoyance)

May you perish in the soup!

Geese-swans disappear behind the stove. Masha and Vanechka immediately appear from behind her.

Masha (with a bow)

Cookie, forever to you
I would appreciate that!

Geese-geese! Be-be-be!

Masha and Vanechka are hiding behind the stove. The swan geese appear again from behind the trees on the right.

Second goose-swan

How treacherous fate is!
I can't stand it, I'll die
I don't want to be soup!

The first goose-swan

You are not a goose - you are a kangaroo!
How stupid you are!

Second goose-swan (crying)

We'll be roasted and eaten
It's all a joke to you!

The first goose-swan

They will shelter us in the village
Two familiar ducks!

Geese-swans go to the stove.

Geese-swans (in chorus)

They won't go to Yagusa
Two cheerful geese!
One is gray, the other is white
Two cheerful geese!

Geese-swans are hiding behind the stove. The stove disappears. In its place appears the house of Masha and Vanechka.

Masha runs out from behind the trees with Vanechka and runs to the porch.

Oh, we made it before dark!
Mom won't know.
Surely now she
We won't be scolded!

Father and mother appear from behind the trees. Masha and Vanechka throw themselves on their necks. Then everyone goes into the house. Father looks out of the window. Geese-swans appear from behind the trees on the right and walk towards the house.

Geese-swans (in chorus)

Take us to live with you.
We don't have a grandmother!
They will guard your house
Two cheerful geese!

Stay, so be it!
C'mon, don't mess around!
Otherwise I’ll feed it to Yaga
You will have to, brothers!

Vanechka comes out of the house. The father disappears, Masha looks out the window.

Geese-geese!

Geese-swans (in chorus)

Do you want to eat?

Geese-swans (in chorus)

Well, then go into the yard,
There will be food for you there!

You will spin yarn for me.
