Dear friends!

This year, the Lego company launched the third season of a series of construction kits for girls (Elves) and animated webisodes, which continue the adventures of the girl Emily Jones in the magical land of Elvendale. Five sets went on sale in March, and we have already talked about them in our reviews. In June, three more wonderful designers were added to them -, and. And although they are all extremely interesting and certainly deserve attention, today we will focus on the set that includes the largest number of parts - this is a construction set.

As we remember from previous reviews of the year’s designers, the Goblin King kidnapped Emily’s younger sister, Sophie Jones, and imprisoned her in his fortress. Now Emily has to find the castle and free the captive. The set that we will now discuss is dedicated to saving Sophie.

The constructor consists of 695 parts. From this kit we can assemble a fortress and a small boat. In addition, the set traditionally includes minifigures, there are four of them - the Goblin King, Emily Jones, Sophie Jones and Tufflin the Goblin. As a bonus, a microfigurine of a bird similar to a crow is included.

Let's start with the minifigures.

Emily Jones - the main character of the Lego Elves series - is dressed in a white T-shirt with gray stripes, a gray skirt and cropped dark blue leggings. On her feet are fuchsia-colored sneakers, and on her neck is an amulet of the keeper of the portal. Hair is brown, braided. Eyes are green. The expression on her face is the same, a calm smile plays on it - apparently, Emily is not very worried about her sister’s imprisonment. The girl holds a golden sword in her hands.

Her sister, Sophie Jones, is wearing a top with lilac stripes and a blue jumpsuit with shorts, with yellow sneakers on her feet. Brown hair is pulled back into a playful ponytail. The facial expression is also the same smiling - it seems that such adventures do not frighten the Jones sisters at all, but even amuse them.

The Goblin King, an elf named Kronan, is dressed in a black suit with golden ornaments, around his neck is his mother's amulet, and on his head is a golden crown with the emblem of the Goblin King. A textile double-sided raincoat is draped over the shoulders - it is purple on the outside and red on the inside. The hair is green, the expression on his face is the same - smiling insidiously. There are prints on the face and left forearm. In his hands, Cronan holds a staff with a green crystal and the key with which he locked Sophie's cage.

The fourth character in the set is Tufflin the Goblin. This is not a prefabricated figurine, made in one piece; only its arms are movable. What we know about Tufflin is that he is the Goblin King's most evil guard, driven completely mad by an evil spell. Tufflin sees hostility in everything around him, including his own shadow. This goblin's skin is lilac, his hair and clothes are blue, and his facial expression is very aggressive. On the belt with the Goblin King's emblem we see a knife and a bag. In his hands, Tafflin holds a spear and shield with the symbols of his master.

The figurine of the bird is very tiny, its height is about 1.5 cm. There are silver-blue feathers on the wings and around the eyes, everything else, including the legs and beak, is painted in a gloomy black color.

Let's move on to the vehicle. It is a small boat, or rather a homemade raft, equipped with a movable oar and a rope with a “cat” at the end. With the help of this simple device, Emily plans to climb the fortress tower, where the cage with her sister is suspended. On board the raft there is a decoration in the form of a flower and a bottle of medicine.

And finally, the main building is the Goblin King's fortress. The walls of the castle are built of light green brick, decorated with crystals and vegetation. This dwelling might even look quite nice if it weren’t for the sharp spikes, claws and teeth sticking out here and there in different places of the structure.

At first glance at the Goblin King's hideout, it becomes clear that they really don't like uninvited guests, or any guests at all. As we can guess, the castle is surrounded by water - this is told to us by the blue details at the base of the building, as well as the fact that Emily arrived at the fortress by boat. On the right side we see the main entrance with a lowering and rising bridge on chains, like in medieval castles. On the second tier, directly above the entrance, there is a portal, with the help of which the Goblin King intends to penetrate the human world in order to capture it. In the center of the fortress wall there is a catapult that shoots poisonous flowers. On the left is a tall tower with a throne and a hanging cage. The approaches to the tower are guarded by carnivorous plants.

The mechanism that raises and lowers the bridge is simple and elegant. The chains supporting the bridge are wound around the axle by a spinning wheel on the side wall of the building. There (on the side facade) there is a secret entrance to the palace, disguised as stonework.

On the second floor above the entrance there is a platform and portal of the Goblin King. It is surrounded by trees with red leaves and fangs, and at the base lies a bag of crystals, with which Kronan is trying to strengthen the portal. The green plate, symbolizing the passage to the world of people, lowers and rises.

In the central part of the castle, at the base, nestled a predatory plant with clattering mouths - a trap for those who approached the fortress walls without permission. The structure is movable, moves up and down like a swing; on the back of the building there is a wheel with which the plant can be moved.

On the left side of the building there is another carnivorous plant; it is attached to the foundation on a round hinge and rotates in all directions. The mouth opens and closes. A little higher on a branch sits a black bird - it guards the spare key to Sophie Jones's dungeon.

The tower has two small windows, and the walls are decorated with stickers that imitate brickwork. Decorative elements in the form of curlicues framing the second floor window are lowered and raised. In addition, here we see a pair of tentacles of plant origin, which are attached to the walls with a movable connection and can also change their position.

The top of the tower is a platform with a 360-degree rotating throne installed on it. The throne looks quite majestic, decorated with bright red fangs. Two plants grow from the back of the throne, one of which has a cage hanging from it. The base of the branch is movable, the cell can move down and up. The barred dungeon door opens to easily fit a minifigure inside.

Let's turn the back side of the fortress towards us and look at the interior decoration.

On the left we will see a hall, which can be accessed either through the front entrance or through a secret side door. Here we see shelves with books, potions, a carnivorous plant, as well as a board with recommendations for caring for it. As follows from the instructions, the plant must be watered from a bottle of poisonous green liquid. In the center of the hall there is a red rug with gold ornaments on the floor.

The right side of the castle is the chambers of the Goblin King. There is a bed here, and on the wall hangs a photograph of little Cronan with his missing mother.

On the second floor, in the tower under the throne, there is a room with a magic tome on a transparent stand. The book opens to reveal a printed detail depicting the symbol of the Goblin King and the amulet of the Portal Keeper (Emily), who is being hunted by our villain.

As you can see, the set is quite rich in interesting details, functionality and gaming capabilities. It will fit perfectly into the collection of Lego Elves fans, becoming the logical conclusion of the third season of the adventures of Emily Jones and her friends in Elvendale. And thanks to the bright, eye-catching design, the set will look great on the shelf. Stay tuned and we promise to tell you about all the new products in the series released in June!

The Goblin King managed to kidnap Sophie Jones. By putting her in prison, he hoped to lure Emily into his fortress. In an effort to save her younger sister from captivity, Emily will definitely penetrate the fortress, where an army of evil goblins and cunning traps will await her. Once in one of them, the girl will also be a prisoner of the King. In exchange for freedom, she will have to give up a magic amulet that opens a portal to the human world, and then the King’s power will become limitless.

From the Lego 41188 set you can assemble a detailed model of the Goblin King's fortress. Its walls are made of lime-gray elements with the addition of red and blue accents. Conventionally, the entire structure can be divided into three parts. On the right is the main entrance. It is equipped with a drawbridge with strong chains. They can be controlled using a rotating mechanism mounted on the wall. After crossing the bridge, you can find yourself in the main hall of the fortress. There is a fireplace with a chimney, shelves with magic potions and a chest of drawers with witchcraft books. On the opposite wall hangs instructions for growing carnivorous plants. An evil shoot is planted underneath it, feeding on chicken legs. Its growth is monitored by a specially trained goblin, who is also responsible for protecting the fortress from uninvited guests.

On the second floor of the right wing of the castle there is an open area in the form of a balcony surrounded by sharp fangs. A round outline for the future portal was built on it. If the Goblin King manages to take possession of Emily's amulet, then a green portal to the human world will appear inside this outline.

The central part of the fortress consists of two arched openings. In front of everyone sits a carnivorous monster with its mouth open. Hidden behind them is a small room that serves as both an armory and a hallway leading to the bedroom.

A watchtower is visible above the arches. This is the favorite place of the King's bird. Sitting on a perch, she vigilantly monitors her surroundings. When a spy appears, the bird loads its catapult and fires aimed at the enemy. The blows are very accurate, since the catapult is mounted on a movable base, allowing it to rotate around its axis.

The main tower of the fortress is divided into 3 levels. Downstairs is the bedroom. It contains 2 beds with red and purple bedspreads. One is for the King, and the other is for his goblin protector.

On the second level there is a study area. It contains a table with writing instruments and a magic staff.

The third floor of the tower is designed as an open area. On it is fixed a massive throne, decorated with red teeth and a greenish crystal. Sitting on it, the King inspects his possessions and monitors the captive, placed in a special hanging cage. To free her, Emily Jones will have to use a trick. First she needs to get to the fortress on a wooden boat. Then throw a rope with a harpoon onto the roof of the tower and climb up. Care should be taken to avoid encountering the clattering jaws of carnivorous plants guarding the approaches. Then you need to get into the interior and find the golden key that opens the prison lock. All this must be done secretly so that the Goblin King does not suspect anything.

New for June 2017 is a construction set from the LEGO Elves series, created specifically for young dreamers.

Emily Jones' adventures in the land of elves continue! In this season, fans of the series will have to defeat the Goblin King, who intends to penetrate the human world and seize power in both parallel universes; free Emily's little sister Sophie, who secretly entered Elvendale from the tenacious hands of small evil goblins and prevent them from taking possession of the magical amulet of the Portal Keeper. The set consists of 695 pieces and includes 4 minifigures.

Help the Jones sisters escape from the Goblin King's castle. Sophie is imprisoned in a hanging cage, and Emily must help her get out of there. The castle is full of dangers: sharp peaks run along the top of the brick wall, and carnivorous plants with large jaws lie in wait below. Trees with threatening fruits grow everywhere. Of course, there are pink and green crystals on the castle grounds. The easiest way to escape from the castle is through the gate, but getting to it is not so easy. However, the girls are not as defenseless as they seem: they have their own vehicles and weapons. Act out the escape from the Goblin King's fortress.

The set includes:

695 parts
Large two-tier castle with drawbridge and cage
Emily's vehicle
4 minifigures – Emily Jones, Sophie Jones, Goblin King, Taflin the Goblin

Features and gaming functionality:

hanging cage
Opening gate
Movable jaws of carnivorous plants

The Goblin King's castle was noisy like a disturbed beehive. Goblins in miniature liveries and aprons rushed along the corridors and halls in large, noisy groups. They held in their tenacious paws huge trays with incomprehensible contents. On one lay an elegant woman's hat with bright feathers; on the other was hotly seasoned food - the aroma emanating from it made the palace guards, dressed in spiked armor and with spears at the ready, sneeze every minute. On the third, soft toys were piled up - new ones, wrapped in gift wrapping, old ones with ears, paws, and eyes torn off. The little goblins deftly carried a load twice their size and weight, bouncing cheerfully around turns.
A disheveled, gray-haired cook jumped out of the castle kitchen with a plate in his short, furry hands. On it were piles of candy, chocolate, licorice sticks and cotton candy twisted into braids.
- Sweets, you forgot sweets! – he yelled to the entire Castle, rushing towards the eastern wing of the third floor.
For several years now, this wing had been closed to all goblins, except for a select few who served the young Queen. Of course, all the goblins were at the wedding, the celebrations rumbled throughout the Labyrinth, even affecting the dungeons with the cleaners. The latter almost destroyed the City in their infernal vehicles, and the guards had to urgently confiscate the harmful transport with a promise to return it after the celebrations. Ogneyann was seated at the same table with the cryolins so that the temperature in the palace did not go to extreme extremes. The asphalt elves dug a passage all the way to the Castle, and this passage was gladly taken advantage of by the worms, who, delighted that they did not have to dig themselves, danced on the heads of larger goblins while dancing.
Traditional competitions were organized by Lie and Truth, taking on the role of toastmaster, as a result of which no one guessed anything except the Sage, but the goblins were afraid to start an argument with him, so everyone who gathered unanimously, including the newlyweds, recognized him as the winner. After the competitions, the Sage fell asleep, and the guests returned to the fun with relief.
At the end of the feast, the flea dealers stole the bride in order to bargain for a lot of rubbish from His Majesty, and a serious commotion began in the Castle: the palace guards turned all the rooms upside down, including the secret ones; the residents of the City took the dump by storm, and the King threw lightning bolts, completely forgetting about the metaphorical nature of this expression of emotions.
In the end, the Queen was found in the Ice Garden, right in the frost-covered gazebo. Surrounded by scavengers who resembled scavenger camels, she died laughing, trying to explain to the hapless kidnappers that the bride-kidnapping ceremony should include a truce who would come to the groom to demand a ransom. Otherwise, how could the King know that this same ransom was due from him?
She...was not from this world. That is, she was not a goblin. But the Labyrinth recognized her as its own immediately, as soon as her graceful (and by goblin standards, piggishly huge and clumsy) foot stepped outside the outer walls of the Labyrinth. She saw all the roads and knew how to pave new paths, and this best of all proved to the local inhabitants that she was the true Goblin Queen, because until now only the King had such a gift. And most importantly, when she was around, the Goblin King was always in a good mood, which contributed to the stability and prosperity of the goblin kingdom.
But then one day... The inhabitants of the Labyrinth do not know how much time has passed, because for them it moved in different directions every day. One day the Queen entered the Castle and never came out again. No one has seen her since then, and the joy of her appearance in the Labyrinth subsided, and then was completely forgotten. The legend of the beautiful Goblin Queen in an airy white dress turned into a fairy tale that adult goblins told their children as a horror story at night, scaring them that they too would put on such a dress and disappear if they did not immediately fall asleep.
And the only one who knew the truth sat in the silent throne room of the Castle in Goblin City and waited.
Little fairies fluttered around the walls, overgrown with bright evergreen shoots, collecting nectar from fiery scarlet and lemon-yellow fragrant flowers. The buzzing of their dragonfly wings and the ticking of the large clock hovering in the air in front of the throne were the only sounds that shook the thick blanket of silence that fell over the royal chambers.
The Goblin King sat in his favorite cross-legged position, his long, dark blue robe trimmed with silver draped over the arms of his throne and reaching down to the floor. A hand in a black leather glove fingered three crystal balls while multi-colored eyes scanned the dirty floor, completely oblivious to the sparkling kaleidoscope that his own fingers created. Jareth was in such deep thought that he did not even notice the fairy flying close - attracted by the flickering of the sun's rays in the crystal, she almost touched the blond hair of the goblin lord with her thin dragonfly wings.
The face of Toby flashed in three crystal balls, as he slowly but surely made his way through the intricacies of the Labyrinth to the Castle.
Of course, the King knew about the uninvited guest in his domain. Frankly speaking, he learned of his arrival even before the boy finished his conversation with the Philosopher - Toby’s appearance was not difficult to predict after recent events. But Jareth could not predict what his intervention would lead to, for the invasion of reality on the other side of dreams was always spontaneous and uncontrollable. Especially when a very dangerous anomaly is wandering near reality.
The Goblin King closed his multi-colored eyes, still shuffling the balls with his deft fingers. His consciousness expanded and went beyond the City, slowly crawled along winding corridors, avoiding dead ends and traps, and after some time touched an anomaly. She calmly continued her work, not even suspecting that her very existence was destroying the connections of the Labyrinth - even he, the King, could not resist this force, and yet he was one of the creators of the anomaly. We could only hope that Toby would be able to correctly understand and understand what was happening, otherwise the entire goblin world would suffer. And the boy must wander along the paths as long as possible.
Jareth threw away the balls, which immediately turned into soap bubbles that burst upon contact with the stone floor, and stood up abruptly. His fast gait and frowning eyebrows scared all the inhabitants of the Castle, and through the emptying corridors he reached the east wing on the third floor. As soon as he saw the locked door, the rest of the world ceased to exist for a few moments.
His fingers, covered in black leather gloves, lay on the polished wood, but did not push the double door. There, inside, she was - so close, and at the same time so far. Jareth could give up on formalities and boldly cross the threshold of the room - after all, he is the King! But he can't. He himself created this refuge for her, and as soon as his foot steps beyond the border line, he will either get lost in endless illusions and reflections, or destroy the fragile world of other people's dreams. The Goblin King did not rule in this room - he was a welcome guest there, but he would not even dare to open the door.
Jareth sadly leaned his forehead against the smooth wooden surface and barely audibly whispered:
- We have so little time, my love. No matter how hard I try to restrain it, it moves forward inexorably... Very soon he will be here and will not hesitate to go inside. And I don't know what will happen then. But it’s time to end this vile waiting, even... even if you don’t agree with me.
He glanced at the numerous trays that filled the corridor next to the locked room, where none of the local inhabitants of this world had access. On one of them, in a pile of toys, lay a sandy yellow teddy bear with one button eye - the second one had come off when little Toby took him out for a walk in a plastic cart.
Jareth squatted in front of the toys, letting the hem of his blue robe rest on the cold stones of the floor.
“How convenient that they found you, Lancelot,” the Goblin King smiled. – I will need your help. Get up!
The teddy bear jerked his paw, freeing his plush-stuffed body from a pile of other toys, and jumped into the King’s obligingly offered palms. He was silent and only twinkled with his single button eye, waiting for orders and importantly straightening the grubby red ribbon tied in a bow around his neck.
“Find your last master, Lancelot,” Jareth ordered quietly. – And make the road to the Castle as confusing as you can. I give you the ability to pave the way in my kingdom.
Taking off his glove, Jareth touched his finger to the empty space on the bear's face - where the second eye used to be. From his touch a crystal button appeared.
- Now you are my eyes and ears.
The little bear nodded, happily patted his paws, touched his new eye and, jumping from the palms of the Goblin King, disappeared. A quiet barking cough was heard from the shadows very close by. Jareth turned sharply at the sound.
-Are you acting wisely, Your Majesty? – a yellow feather hanging from a blue beret respectfully swept the floor at the King’s feet.
Jareth briefly closed his multi-colored eyes - he had completely forgotten about the keeper of the Queen's chambers. And about his excessive nobility, which served as a reproach at the most inopportune time.
- And what do you propose, Sir Didymus? – the King asked irritably, throwing up his hands. – Open this door and eliminate the anomaly in one fell swoop and save all lives? The boy will do just that when he gets to the Castle! He must go through many obstacles on his way to understand that the easy road in the Labyrinth only leads to a dead end,” Jareth turned away from the guard and again touched the door with his fingertips. “I will give him all thirteen hours so that his search for truth and adventure will be crowned with success, and then... then he will enter this room.” Only this way and no other way!
Turning sharply on the heels of his tall black boots, Jareth walked away in the direction of the throne room.
The old knight just sighed, glancing sideways at the door. He already knew what was happening there, and how it would hurt the King and, accordingly, the entire goblin kingdom. But Sir Didymus was sure that his master should not have created obstacles, but, on the contrary, helped his young guest get to the Castle as quickly as possible.
“This is wrong,” he muttered, thoughtfully ruffling the feather on his worn velvet beret. A quiet groan was heard from behind, and the knight immediately turned around, drawing his sword with lightning speed and placing the tip of the tip against the throat of the one who had appeared.
- Take it easy, Sir Didymus! – he backed away, raising both hands in a defensive gesture.
“Oh, you scared me, Sir Hoggle,” exclaimed the former hermit of the Swamp, putting his sword back in its sheath.
Wiping the sweat that had formed from fear from his forehead, Hoggle walked up to the door, but didn’t even touch the handle.
- Jareth was here, wasn't he? What is he up to, Sir Didymus? – he asked bluntly.
The guardian of the chambers became embarrassed and took a step back from his friend.
- Do I have the right...
- C'mon! – Hoggle got angry. “You know what, or rather who is at stake!” Speak already.
- His Majesty sent the teddy bear Lancelot to prevent Mr. Toby from entering the Castle.
Hoggle shook his gray head and tugged at the pouch of valuables hanging from his belt, which he never parted with.
- Sarah's toy! But this is outrageous and absolutely wrong! Toby must get to the Castle - to the Queen!
“It is impossible to convince His Majesty,” the old knight sighed.
The Goblin slammed his fist into his open palm and resolutely walked towards the stairs until his former cowardice got the better of him - this is what it takes to challenge the Goblin King! Until now, only Sarah had dared to do this. Hoggle touched the plastic bracelet on his right wrist and walked even more decisively.
- If Jareth decided to stop Toby, then we must help him! - he declared and said over his shoulder: - Sir Didymus, remain on guard. Ludo and I will stop Lancelot and, if possible, guide Toby past the traps.
Sir Didymus nodded and dejectedly sat down among the trays on the floor, tightly grasping the hilt of his sword.
“If the King finds out, we will all have to swim in the Swamp of Malicious Stench,” he said quietly to himself. “We can only hope for the speedy healing of the lady, otherwise the Labyrinth will be in serious danger...
