Good afternoon everyone! Today I dedicate my review to the board game "Sea Battles". Even as children, we played the game "Battleship" on paper, and now the game has been improved and now it is a board game with guns, shells and ships.
My son was given the board game "Sea Battles" for his birthday, he really likes it, he plays it every day. The game is very interesting and exciting, it develops perseverance, attention, accuracy and reaction speed.

The box shows the game, where you can see the color and design of the game itself.
There are several pictures on the bottom of the box showing how to play it.

The rules and purpose of the game are described on the side.

A plastic handle is attached to the top for easy movement of the game.

The goal of this game is to shoot down all enemy ships. Players, on their part, place four ships in special slots and divide the projectile balls equally; each cannon is loaded with two projectile balls (one ball in each cannon socket).

The game involves two players. Players can make shots simultaneously or alternately. After the shot, the projectile balls roll into a special chute, from which they are taken and loaded back into the cannon. You can only take projectile balls from the chute that is closer to the player (these are projectile balls fired from the enemy’s cannon). When aiming at enemy ships, the cannon can be rotated.

The gun is aimed in one of the following ways:
1) “by eye”, comparing the direction of one of the gun barrels with the enemy ship. To do this, an imaginary line-trajectory of the ball-projectile is drawn from the gun barrel to the enemy ship;

2) using a lens. For this purpose, a mirror is used, which is located in the middle of the gun. It is necessary to smoothly press the key located opposite the socket with a charged projectile ball. If you accurately aim at the target, the enemy ship will be “sunk”.

The board game is intended to be played by children over the age of five. Use under direct adult supervision. Before use, remove all packaging materials and wipe the toy with a damp cloth. Product parts are made of plastic and their color may not match the image. Contains small parts and parts with sharp edges. Risk of injury. Service life is not limited.
Contents: field with two towers - 1 pc. boat figures - 12 pcs. metal balls - 16 pcs.

The game is very interesting, your children will like it and you too, you can play at your leisure and remember your childhood.
I recommend to everyone!

Cost: 1000 rub.

Year of manufacture/purchase: 2014

General impression. An interesting, exciting game.

Sea battle - according to various dictionaries, is a battle between ships and their crews that takes place at sea. The goal of any naval battle is to sink, burn or capture enemy ships and vessels. As floating craft and the types of weapons they are armed with improved, naval combat changed its tactical and strategic methods many times...

It is not surprising that a huge number of different games have been created on the theme of naval battles. First of all, let's remember the classic game on a piece of notebook paper in a cage, which all schoolchildren used to play. It's no surprise that this game continues to be very popular.

And here is another retro version of this game - the Soviet one, in which you need to launch torpedoes and sink incoming ships. This slot machine was one of the most popular; in the 80s there was always a line of boys standing next to it who always dreamed of becoming captains.

But in this review we will talk about an old board game called “Battleship”. This game was so popular that it continues to be released today, despite the presence of many cool video games with a nautical theme. So what is the secret to the success of this board game?

The fact is that the game was released in the 80s of the last century, at that time Soviet children had not yet heard of computers, and this game was able to compete with any slot machine. Yes, that’s right, although the game is designed for two players, it is quite possible to play it alone, and it is enough to make some adjustments to the rules of the game and turn on your imagination...

Now let's talk about the game itself and how it works. Let's start with the playing field, which is made of plastic. This is a plastic box with a metal bottom that has a very smooth surface and the edges are curved to resemble a pocket or trench. It is into this pocket that shells in the form of metal balls and wrecked ships fall. The lid of the box is made of transparent plexiglass with various information written on it. At the same time, the plexiglass does not cover the pockets at the bottom, and there are eight cutouts on its edges (four on each side). It is into these cutouts that the ships of the players - admirals - are inserted. In two corners of the playing field, on swivels, there are plastic guns, the design of which we will describe in detail below. The game set includes 8 (eight) plastic ships (battleships) and 16 (sixteen) metal balls.

Two people play, but the game can also be played for one person. If there are more people willing to take part in a naval battle, then they usually play for the winner, i.e. the one who loses is eliminated, and the first in line takes his place. Players arrange ships by inserting them into slots in plastic that emits a water surface.

Now let's look at several options for fighting. You can approach the game in different ways and organize naval battles according to one of the scenarios or even invent your own:

  1. Each player takes eight balls and at a signal the battle begins. After shooting all the shells, the players take them out of their “pockets” on the field and continue the battle on command. It is this option that will ensure fair play and prevent the ships from being held by hand, at the moment when one player takes out the balls, and the other hits the ship, which cannot fall (sink) because rests on the hand. The game continues until complete victory, until the enemy squadron is completely destroyed.
  2. This option is similar to the first, but the number of salvos is limited. Their number is agreed upon in advance. The winner is determined by points that are awarded for each sunk ship.
  3. If there are no opponents, then you can play the game alone. The player takes sixteen balls and fires at enemy ships. The goal is to sink the entire squadron (all four ships). If the squadron is sunk and the player still has balls, then he needs to calculate the entire amount for sunk ships, and then add 50 (fifty) points for each saved shell.

It's time to talk about the design of the gun and the rules of shooting in the game. In the picture you see a view of the double-barreled turret gun from which you will fire. At the top of the tower there are two holes into which balls - projectiles - should be placed. Next, look through the holes at the back of the tower and you will see the surface of the sea along which the enemy squadron is moving. Point the gun and press one or two triggers at once, the balls will come out of the barrels and roll along the bottom of the playing field. If the aiming was done correctly, the ball will hit the leg of the ship with which it is inserted into the slot and knock it out of the slot. Although this happens quite rarely. Usually, to sink a ship you need to hit it several times.

Cannon, top view. Sea battle.

It seems to me that the creators of the game did the wrong thing when they made a device that launches balls in the form of a cannon. The fact is that the ball rolls under the surface. water and ends up in the bottom of ships, i.e. The analogy with a torpedo immediately suggests itself here. And of course, instead of a cannon it was necessary to make a torpedo tube. This would make the game look more believable.

So we got acquainted with a brief description of the board game Battleship, which can easily be bought on the Internet.
