Winter fantasy drawing step by step. Master class on painting with gouache “Winter Tales”

Yulia Katina

Greetings to all fellow Maamites! It’s winter again and very soon the beloved New Year holiday from childhood. For those who have not yet started making New Year's gifts with their students, I would like to publish another post dedicated to the favorite monotype technique. And if you don’t have time before the New Year, then I think it will come in handy in January. Moreover, today we draw our favorite ones that are so understandable to children fairy tales. In Russians fairy tales Zimushka-Winter appears in all its glory. Of course you must have read them or told their children -“Wolf and Fox”, “Mitten”, “Gray Neck”, “At the Order of the Pike”. And it's about time draw illustrations for them.

Of course, we looked at the works of illustrators and discussed with the children what they learned fairy tales here.

Each of the guys chose which one to go to. fairy tales he wants to draw an illustration. But since in all these fairy tales this happens in winter, then first it is necessary winter background. I suggest draw in his interesting way - monotype.

Paper (preferably dense for drawing or watercolor) bend it in half.

Apply to the top half of the sheet using a spoon. gouache in small blots. Blue, dark blue and white in between.

Cover the paint with the bottom half of the sheet and press well with your palms so that the paint mixes and spreads inside.

Open it up and admire the blots. But not for long. While the paint is wet, you need to turn the bottom of the sheet into ice on a river or a snowy clearing.

Use a wide brush to smooth out the blots.

We add almost no water and our ice or snow dries out almost immediately. We can continue drawing a fairy tale plot.

The blots at the top of the leaf transform into trees in the background. And ours appear in the foreground fairy tale characters - fox, wolf, duck.

My samples fairy tales:

Children's works:

With younger children, you can make an applique using ready-made figures on a prepared background. (Trees, fox, mitten).

I wish you and your students the joy of creativity!

Story pictures are a universal material for speech therapy work in kindergarten. They help the teacher solve the following problems:

  • learn to write a descriptive story;
  • enrich vocabulary;
  • develop thinking, attention, imagination.

Various pictures for children depicting winter and winter fun should definitely be among the speech therapist's teaching materials. You can use special themed sets for kindergarten or select suitable images yourself. Let's consider several options for pictures about winter that will help in your work.

The picture Winter has come opens a series of images of nature selected for the new season. It can be used in classes in the senior and preparatory groups, conducting classes on the topic "", "How animals prepare for the cold", "", "".

The plot picture Winter in the forest helps to clearly show children the changes that occur in nature, in the forest. A beautiful winter landscape helps expand a child's horizons and vocabulary.

The description of a winter forest can be played out as a journey, an imaginary adventure into a drawn area.

Snow-White Zimushchka-Winter is an ideal background for Russian folk tales; this can also be used in collective and individual work with children. A doll tetra on a transparent background superimposed on a forest landscape is suitable for this.

Stories about winter should also include a description of the New Year and Christmas holidays. Children love these Winter pictures more than others and are more willing to engage with them. It is very useful to select images of live Christmas trees in the forest and a decorated Christmas tree at a holiday, and then play “Find the Differences!”

The next picture is called Winter outside the window, it shows the life of the metropolis in the coldest time of the year. For the preparatory group, it is good to use images of snow-covered streets of a big city and winter in the countryside; a couple of these illustrations can be used for group work and games. Drawing winter in the city allows you to discuss with children not only changes in nature, but also conduct speech games and exercises on the topic of Transport and Professions, since at this time you can see new cars and people doing special work on the street.

Pictures depicting winter children's games and sports activities organized in the fresh air are an excellent opportunity not only to enrich children's active vocabulary and narrative speech, but also to work on reinforcing complex sounds. These could be exercises on differentiating S and S, Z and Z, S and Z, S and Z.

Several pictures of winter fun will be useful for working in a group and for conducting open classes. It will help to compose a story based on the picture Winter fun, which schematically depicts:

  • name of entertainment, game;
  • its rules;
  • its attributes;
  • number of participants;
  • best season.

For example, if the picture is dedicated to the winter fun “snowballs”, then the following should be noted in the table:

  • the first sound of the game's name is soft S and the snowballs themselves;
  • prohibition of throwing snowballs in the face, at animals and birds, at children;
  • gloves, snow molds, shield, targets;
  • one child and many;
  • snowfall, large snowflakes.

With such support, children will be able to compose their own story not only following the example of an adult, but also with the help of independent analysis. No inscriptions are needed; even senior pupils can easily compose a complete story using clear, schematic pictures.

In speech therapy work, it is useful to use a series of story-based pictures on the topic of Winter fun, winter sports, etc. Here is an approximate list of games that a speech therapist can conduct on the topic of Winter fun using story-based pictures, one or a series:

  • “What happened next?” (continue story)
  • What's in the picture... (white, cold, fluffy, etc.)
  • "Journey into Drawing"
  • "Guess what I'm talking about!"

The themes of the arrival of winter and winter children's fun are a real “methodological treasure trove” for speech therapists and teachers. There are a huge number of options for using it. We have offered you just a few of them.

On the eve of the New Year, the gallery of drawings in Brašečka is actively replenished with New Year trees. However, the winter theme is not limited to just furry beauties! You will be surprised how many interesting and varied ideas you can come up with for drawings on the theme of winter. Especially if you draw them in the fabulously beautiful, snowy and New Year’s fluffy “Winter’s Tale” set :)

We invite you and your children to take a fresh look at the theme “Winter's Tale” with the help of a mental map by our artist Olga Suslova!

Ideas for drawings on the theme of winter:

Based on the proposed mental map, you can conduct several interesting and exciting activities with children. For example:

  1. Winter landscape. Forest landscape or cityscape.
  2. Winter portrait. Portrait of a family of snowmen.
  3. Snow games and fun.
  4. Winter still life. Winter bouquet.
  5. Snegomir. Invent a snowy country with its inhabitants, forests, mountains and cities. Residents: Snow cat, snow dog, snow elephant, snow mouse...
  6. Music. Abstract compositions based on musical works about winter with different moods.
  7. Illustrations for your favorite winter tales. Portrait of the Snow Queen, Snow Maiden, Morozko, etc.
  8. New Year. Christmas tree on a city street. Santa Claus and his animals. Present. We decorate the Christmas tree.

Children's drawings on the theme of winter, drawn in Brašečka:

The theme of the winter's tale does not end there, especially since in the "Winter's Tale" set you can draw not only winter. Do not limit yourself to the topics suggested here and feel free to come up with your own drawing themes. Believe me: Your Imagination is limitless!

We continue to draw with children in different techniques - watercolors, acrylics - and make appliqués. Drawings on the theme “Winter” will help you spend time with your child when it’s too cold outside, and will also become subjects for New Year’s cards.

If you have some leaves left over from the fall, use them to create beautiful pictures of a snow-covered forest. Place the leaves on newspaper and paint them with white gouache or acrylic paint. Then carefully stamp the leaves onto the paper, pressing them tightly with a napkin.

Using white wax crayon, draw any image on white paper: snowflakes, houses, a spruce branch, a snowman, or an abstract pattern. For kids, you can make small cards with simple figures or animals drawn. Or write some message.

Wet the paper with water and invite the child to paint over the white sheet with paint (it is better to use acrylic paint or watercolor diluted with water). The white wax lines will remain unpainted and an image will appear on the sheet.

Offer your child an interesting experiment - draw a picture with “ice” crystals! To do this, you will need several bags of magnesium sulfate (magnesia), which can be bought at any pharmacy.

To prepare paint for painting, pour a little hot water (1-2 cm) into plastic cups and, stirring, pour magnesia powder into the water. Stir until the powder is completely dissolved and an insoluble sediment appears at the bottom.

Tint the resulting liquid with watercolors. Prepare several flowers at once.

Wet the sheet with a wide brush or sponge and start painting. As the paint dries, crystals will begin to appear, and the drawing will be covered with a unique ice pattern.

  • You can paint with one paint or mix several colors.
  • You can draw snowflakes on dry paper with a cotton swab.
  • The finished picture, drawn with crayons, pencils or acrylic paints, can be coated with a colorless solution of “ice paint”.
  • Unused paint can be left, and after a while large crystals will begin to form in the cups.
  • If you want to preserve the resulting design, cover it with varnish.

Wet a sheet of thick paper with water and apply liquid paint to it. Place a crumpled plastic bag, usually used for food, over the paint and leave it on the paper until the paint is completely dry.

Then remove the bag and you will see an amazing frosty design.

To draw using this technique, it is best to use a kitchen tray. You can also use glass, plastic napkins for plates and glossy cardboard from packaging.

Apply liquid paint to a smooth substrate or mix paint directly onto it. Depending on what you have in mind, you can use one or several colors. If necessary, the paint on the tray can be sprayed with water.

Place a piece of paper on the paint tray and press it down with your hand, then gently lift it up.

A unique design will be printed on the sheet, which can be further refined by drawing on the necessary details.

- transparent “windows” made of film, you know, there are such transparencies for presentations; maybe a window in a house, maybe the wings of a dragonfly, a glass... You can draw what you need on the transparent paper with a permanent marker
- parts dangling loosely on beautiful woolen or other threads. All sorts of hearts, tails, a load on a crane, a bag on a shoulder strap, a dog on a leash (you can make a pocket for it)
- pockets, by the way, from which something sticks out when pulled out, say, a flower from a pot, the same dog from a kennel, a gift from Santa Claus’s bag

I believe that the teacher gives a 2 for the fact that the task was not attempted. Those. because there is NOTHING in the notebook.
And they correctly suggested putting AT LEAST SOMETHING in the notebook.
Or something creative, or a schematic image like “stick-stick, cucumber”.
I see the meaning of the task of drawing side by side a primitive and a modern person as follows: while he is drawing, he will “play out” these details several times in his mind, he will procrastinate, and then he will remember them.
It seems to me that it’s better to take the signs in text form and depict them YOURSELF.
Well, the vertebrae are different, the brow ridges. Surely there is such a drawing in the textbook.
And I’m almost sure that what will be assessed is not the quality of the drawing, but the attempt to depict these signs - whether everyone is included in the drawing.

The same thing for a liter: while we are drawing, WE THINK over the work several times. Therefore, I believe that the work should be done by the student himself. Whether it will be a drawing or an appliqué, or a collage, or an abstraction is not so important (for me, and, probably, for the teacher?).

Over the past two weeks, we have had the following ideas:
sculpted from clay and painted the result,
cut out and glued the puppet theater, then put on a performance,
Dad and I glued together a ZISA model (purchased)
weaved rugs from paper,
baked 5 pies together (my son makes the dough and decorations),
dried leaves
we learned to select simple melodies on a synthesizer (I didn’t think it would work, but my son himself first picked up Chizhik-Pyzhik, and then took on Brother Jacob), recorded the rhythm of familiar melodies (they teach this in music school - and we really liked it as a game - short sound is a small circle, long sound is a larger circle)
and, of course, we played Memory, three-sided checkers, did all sorts of preparations for school, learned new English songs, and wrote poems about swans.

We did a beautiful experiment: we dissolved phenolphthalein in water, added a solution of soda - pink coloring; added vinegar - the solution became discolored.

Winter is a very cold time of the year. This is not to say that it is not as beautiful as spring, summer or autumn. Winter has its own characteristics and beauty. Snow-white snowdrifts, crispy snow underfoot and small snowflakes that fall straight from the sky. Well, isn't it lovely? Today we will find ourselves in a village in the winter season. A frozen river, roads covered with snow, small houses standing in the distance, and behind them the silhouettes of a winter forest. This lesson will answer the question of how to draw a winter landscape.
Tools and materials:

  • White sheet of paper;
  • Eraser;
  • Simple pencil;
  • Black pen;
  • Colored pencils (orange, brown, blue, dark blue, dark brown, green, dark yellow, gray).

Drawing a winter village landscape

  • Step 1

    In the middle of the sheet we draw two houses. It is worth considering that they will be in the background, so we make them small. The house on the right will be larger than on the left and has a window. They will stand in the snow, so we draw the ground line a little wavy.

  • Step 2

    Silhouettes of bushes and trees are visible on the sides of the houses. To the right of the house there will be two trees on a tall and thin trunk. We make the horizon line wider.

  • Step 3

    Add silhouettes of trees in the background. We make them different, but at the edge the height of the trees should decrease. Let's draw the foreground a little, making a small indentation.

  • Step 4

    In the depression in the middle we draw a small fence, covered with snow. Add snowdrifts on the sides. The river will be placed in the center, so the snowdrifts should decrease in this area. And in the very center of the river (and the leaf) there will be a large stone.

  • Step 5

    In the foreground, trees will be visible on the sides of the snowdrifts. They will be completely bald, with only the trunk and branches visible.

  • Step 6

    Draw the outlines with a black pen. Using a black pen, we do not highlight only the background of the picture in which the forest is located (behind the houses).

  • Step 7

    We make the front part of the houses orange. Draw the side part and under the roof with a brown pencil.

  • Step 8

    Under the house we will draw snow in blue and light blue, adding a frosty tint to the drawing. The middle of the picture will be blue and the edge will be blue.

  • Step 9

    Trees, stumps and a fence should be painted in brown and dark brown. On the right side of the trees we will add an orange tint.

  • Step 10

    We make the river blue in the middle, and blue closer to the ground. Draw the snow in the foreground in gray to give it volume.

  • Step 11

    We will draw the forest against the background of the picture in three colors – gray, dark yellow and green. We apply the color without specifying the contours. Since the trees are in the background, they will be slightly blurred.

  • Step 12

    We finalize the drawing by adding blue color to the sky. Now we know how to draw a winter rural landscape.

How to draw a simple winter landscape with a pencil step by step

Drawing a winter landscape with a Christmas tree and a snowman

  • Step 1

    First, using light pencil lines, indicate the approximate location of all objects on a piece of paper;

  • Step 2

    Start drawing the winter landscape in more detail. To do this, first outline the branches of the birch tree, and then draw the outlines of the forest in the distance. Draw a house, depicting its roof, chimney and windows. Draw a path going into the distance;

  • Step 3

    Draw a small Christmas tree next to the birch tree. And on the other side of the road, draw a snowman;

  • Step 4

    Of course, once you understand how to draw a winter landscape with a pencil, you shouldn’t stop there. You need to color the drawing. Therefore, outline the landscape with a liner;

  • Step 5

    Using an eraser, erase the original sketch;

  • Step 6

    Color the Christmas tree with a green pencil. Shade the birch trunk with gray color. Paint over the stripes on the birch tree, as well as its branches, with a black pencil;

  • Step 7

    Color the forest in the background green, and the house with brown and burgundy pencils. Paint the windows yellow. Shade the smoke with a gray shade;

  • Step 8

    Color the snowman using pencils of various colors;

  • Step 9

    Use blue-blue pencils to shade the snow. Shade in yellow those places where the light falls from the windows;

  • Step 10

    Use gray pencils to color the sky.

  • Step 11

    The drawing is completely ready! Now you know how to draw a winter landscape! If desired, it can be painted with paints. For example, gouache or watercolor is perfect for this purpose! You can also draw a similar drawing with a simple pencil using shading. True, in this case it will not look so bright, festive and impressive.

Drawing a winter landscape with a lake

How to draw a winter forest landscape

Every season the forest is transformed. In the spring it begins to come to life, covering the trees with young foliage and melting snow. In summer, the forest is fragrant not only with flowers, but with ripe berries. Autumn colors the trees of the forest in various warm colors, and the sun palely warms with its last rays. Winter exposes the branches of trees and covers them with a white blanket of snow, freezing the rivers. It's hard not to convey this beauty in illustrations. Therefore, today we will choose the last season of the year and learn how to draw a winter forest landscape using colored pencils.
Tools and materials:

  • Simple pencil;
  • White sheet of paper;
  • Eraser;
  • Black helium pen;
  • Black marker;
  • Colored pencils (blue, orange, blue, gray, green, light green, brown, dark brown).
  • Step 1

    Divide the sheet into four parts. First, draw a horizontal line in the middle of the sheet. Draw a vertical segment in the middle of the horizontal line.

  • Step 2

    Let's draw the background part of the picture. On a horizontal line we draw two mountains (the left one will be larger than the right one.) And in front of them we will make silhouettes of trees.

  • Step 3

    We retreat a small section down from the horizontal line (there will be a river here). Using a curved line we will draw the ground, or rather, a cliff.

  • Step 4

    We retreat further down and draw pine trees. Their feature is a long trunk and thin branches. At the base of the trunk we will add small snowdrifts. The trees on the left have some foliage.

  • Step 5

    Let's draw a deer in the foreground. The animal should not be too detailed, because the main task of the drawing is to show the winter landscape. Let's add more snowdrifts in the foreground.

  • Step 6

    Let's outline the outlines of the drawing in the foreground with a black pen. There will be snow on the tree branches.

  • Step 7

    We begin to paint with color from the background part (top). Let's determine that there will be a sunset, so between the mountains we apply orange, then add blue and blue. We make the transitions between colors smooth, applying from bottom to top. The mountains will be gray, but adjust the contrast using pressure. We make the trees in front of the mountains uniformly green.

  • Step 8

    For the river we use the usual blue and blue colors. Closer to the mountains, we add green and gray tints to the water to make it look more picturesque.

  • Step 9

    The trunk should be drawn using orange, brown and dark brown. The trees on the left have some leaves, which we will make green.

  • Step 10

    Add a shadow from the trees using a gray pencil. Let's add a little coldness to the drawing by drawing the foreground in blue.

  • Step 11

    The deer's body is covered with brown fur. And between the snowdrifts we will add blue color. So we learned how to draw a winter forest landscape.

How to draw a winter mountain landscape step by step

You can often see incredibly beautiful mountain landscapes on postcards or find similar ones on the Internet. The stone giants covered with snow are mesmerizing. At their base stand blue spruce trees, frozen from the cold. And there’s not a soul around, just a blue snow flicker. Is it possible to resist skipping to the lesson and learning how to draw a winter mountain landscape with a pencil step by step? The lesson is perfect for novice artists who will be able to depict this beauty of the icy mountains the first time if they carefully follow the steps.
