Yes, three years ago there was such a case. One girl in the audience had big hips, and I made a pretty harsh joke about her fatness. She was very offended! But then she told me that after this joke she looked at herself from a different perspective, lost weight, found a boyfriend, and now everything is generally fine with her. For her, this stress turned out to be healing.

Is self-irony an innate or acquired skill?

Probably innate, but as adults we can convince ourselves that we are too beautiful and do not allow ourselves to be laughed at. In childhood, everyone is self-ironic! They looked at themselves in the mirror and could laugh at their big belly or other features.

We thought about calling Timati. And they would be happy to “roast” Pasha Volya. The main thing is that none of them is offended. We joke not to offend, but to notice things that really happened to a person.

How does the Russian “Prozharka” differ from a similar Western format?

I think cultural upbringing. There was an attempt on Channel One to make such a show, but it turned out to be toothless. We tried not to step on the same rake, but we didn’t want to go into vulgarity. In the West, the school of comedy is, in principle, much stronger than ours. We come up with jokes based on our abilities and the Russian mentality. But our experience is so far 5 years, and they have 60, so their “feints” in humor are more inventive.

We promote revolutionary new humor on television. No one has ever joked like that before! We have an example - Pasha Volya about 10 years ago. He joked about the stars in such a way that he was called daring and brave. Now I have stopped doing this, but this does not mean that the genre has become obsolete, Pasha has simply outgrown it. And we took on “Roasting”! There are many similar formats on YouTube, live parties, but only we were allowed to joke so daringly at popular stars in their presence. And not somewhere in a gateway, but on a federal television channel with an audience of 90 million!
