Chelsea music group. What happened to the participants of the sixth “Star Factory”

“Chelsea” is a Russian pop group formed as a result of the “Star Factory-6” project, produced by Viktor Drobysh. It includes: Roman Arkhipov, Arseny Borodin, Alexey Korzin, Denis Petrov.
Each member of the group prefers a certain musical direction: Denis Petrov - rap, Roman Arkhipov - rock, Arseny Borodin - soul, Alexey Korzin - R&B. Each participant, thanks to the Star Factory project, has experience working with famous performers such as Electric Light Orchestra, US5 and Scorpions. As for vocal abilities, all soloists have different timbres - the guys successfully use this technical point. The main features of Chelsea's musical style are a new rhythm, an emphasis on high-quality vocals, oriented towards the Western school, more drive and positive energy.

Despite the fact that the future members of the group had different musical preferences, producer Viktor Drobysh already at the second concert united the guys on stage into one whole. This was the first nomination for Alexey Korzin and the first hit of the future group - “Alien Bride”. The song reached the second line of the Golden Gramophone hit parade of Russian Radio and stayed there for more than twenty weeks.

The group’s second hit was the song “The Most Favorite,” which the guys performed at Arseny Borodin’s last nomination.

Although the guys performed together at the reporting concerts of the “Star Factory”, the name of the group was not immediately invented. At first they were just called a boy band. A competition for the best group name was even announced on the Channel One forum. The official name of the group was announced only at the final concert of the “Star Factory”, on June 29, 2006, when the guys were presented with a certificate for the right to use the CHELSEA trademark in Russia and the Commonwealth countries. This date can be considered the official birthday of the group. The name “Chelsea” was approved by Victor Drobysh. According to the official version, he wanted to give the group a female name, following the example of Freddie Mercury, who named his group “Queen”.

On December 1, the presentation of the band's debut album took place at the Gelsomino club. It included songs sung at the Star Factory, a rehash of the “Veselye Rebyat” hit “I won’t come to you” and three remixes. After the release of the album, the group recorded a duet with Philip Kirkorov on the beautiful romantic song “Love is always right,” the authors of which were producer and composer Viktor Drobysh and poetess Lena Stuf. This song was released into rotation in March 2007. In June, another song, “Wings,” was released into rotation.

In February 2007, the ceremony of presenting the Sound Track 2006 awards, established by the newspaper Moskovsky Komsomolets, took place. The Chelsea group participated in the “Best Group” nomination, and they became it, snatching victory from such serious rivals as “Beasts”, t.A.T.u, “Disco Crash” and “Chi-li”.

In 2011, the group took part in the “Star Factory” project. Return”, where graduates of the “Star Factory” of different years compete, each of whom once began their career in the “Star House”. Chelsea is part of the team of producer Viktor Drobysh.

A pop-rock group formed as a result of the Star Factory -6 project, produced by Victor Drobysh.

Story

The Chelsea group was created during the Star Factory-6 project. Despite the fact that the future members of the group had different musical preferences, producer Viktor Drobysh brought them together at the second concert. This was Alexey Korzin’s first nomination and the first hit of the future group - “Someone else’s Bride”. The song reached the second line of the Golden Gramophone hit parade of Russian radio and stayed there for more than twenty weeks. The group’s second hit was the song “The Most Favorite,” which the guys performed at Arseny Borodin’s last nomination. This song later brought them the Golden Gramophone.

Name

Although the group members performed together at the reporting concerts of the Star Factory, the name of the group was not immediately invented. At first, for lack of a better word, the group was simply called a boy band. A competition for the best group name was announced on the Channel One forum. The intrigue lasted until the very end. The official name of the group was announced at the final concert of the “Star Factory”, on June 29, 2006, when the participants were presented with a certificate for the right to use the Chelsea trademark in Russia and the CIS countries. This date can be considered the official birthday of the group. The name “Chelsea” was approved by Viktor Drobysh.

Composition of the group

The group consists of three soloists: Denis Petrov, Alexey Korzin and Arseny Borodin. This is the second lineup of the group in history. Roman Arkhipov left the team in 2011.

The Russian pop group Chelsea, the brainchild of the Star Factory musical project, quickly burst onto the pop scene, winning an army of thousands of fans. The names of the charming guys - first four, then three - were repeated by fans more often than other star-manufacturers. The guys presented dozens of wonderful songs to music lovers in the CIS countries and won their own niche in Russian show business.

Chelsea group

You shouldn’t be surprised, because the producer of the project was a famous composer, whose track record includes collaborations with and other pop stars of the country. But the Chelsea team, which appeared after the 6th season of “Star Factory,” stands apart.

Compound

The 6th season of the project, created to support and promote new talents, started in the spring of 2006. Out of 16 thousand applicants, 17 young performers made it to the talent show. Seeing the commonality that unites several soloists into a vibrant group is not an easy task. All the guys are different; they took their first steps in music before participating in a top-rated TV show in different styles and genres.

But the producer of the show, Viktor Drobysh, coped with the difficult task brilliantly, finding in the guys something that complemented and turned the disparate into a single whole.

Already at the second concert, the producer introduced new bands to the audience. Not all of them successfully continued their careers after the project, but four managed to stay together for a long time. 17-year-old Barnaul resident, 19-year-old Alexey Korzin from Apatity, 21-year-old Muscovite and his peer from Mozdok received a star chance.

Previously, the guys took their first steps in their musical careers in different directions. Arseny preferred soul performance, Alexey preferred RnB, Roman chose rock, and Denis rapped. But the guys performed their joint debut composition called “Someone else’s Bride” in one breath, demonstrating a unified whole.

The first line-up of the Chelsea group

The first composition became a hit in 2006, in the summer it was heard on all dance floors and in cafes, reached the 2nd step of the “Golden Gramophone” parade of hits on the waves of “Russian Radio” and gained a foothold in this position for 20 weeks.

At first, the four vocalists were called a male boy band, the guys performed at “factory” concerts and reports without a name, but soon the question of the name of the group arose. An announcement about the best name for the group appeared on the forum of the Channel One television company.

The intrigue ended at the end of the show, at the final concert of the project. At a music show at the Olimpiysky sports complex, Sergei Arkhipov presented the male quartet with a certificate for the Chelsea trademark, which the guys can use in Russia and the CIS countries.

New composition of the Chelsea group

For many, the name “Chelsea” is associated with the bohemian area of the British capital. The name of a male band from Russia seemed to make a claim to areas where Europeans had previously reigned. The birthday of the Chelsea group is considered to be June 29, 2006, the day the certificate was presented at the NSC Olimpiysky.

At the end of 2006, the Chelsea group, in addition to four vocalists, had five musicians: three guitarists, a keyboard player and a drummer. In 2011, the Chelsea group underwent changes: the quartet turned into a trio due to the departure of Roman Arkhipov. Arseny Borodin, Alexey Korzin and Denis Petrov remained in the team.

Music

Vocalists have repeatedly refuted the myth of using a soundtrack on the project: the Chelsea group demonstrated “live” instruments and vocals every time at concerts. At a concert organized by the Muz-TV channel in the spring, the Chelsea group was the only one that insisted on singing “live.”

The second hit of the Chelsea band was the composition “The Most Favorite”. The song was performed at Borodin’s last nomination. Soon the children were awarded the “Golden Gramophone” for it.

After the finale of the 6th season of the project, the lead singers of the Chelsea group went on tour around the country and cities of the post-Soviet space. At the concerts the guys presented the entire repertoire. Denis Petrov and Arseny Borodin entertained the guests with performance numbers, enlivening the audience between vocal numbers.

Fans who bought tickets to the performances of the Chelsea group heard their favorite hits “For You”, “Last Call”, “Become Mine”, “In Half”.

All members of the group sing, write lyrics for new compositions, and arrange them. The project featured songs by Alexey Korzin and Denis Petrov. Each of the guys plays some kind of instrument, and Corzine is a multi-instrumentalist. The guys joke that Alexey extracts musical sounds from all the surrounding objects that his hands reach.

At the end of 2006, the Chelsea group presented their debut album of the same name, presented 3 remixes and covered the old hit “I won’t come to you” by the mega-popular band “Veselye Rebyaty” in the 1990s. The presentation of the collection took place in the capital's club "Jelsomino" on the first day of December.

After the presentation, the musicians recorded a new composition with music by Drobysh and lyrics by Lena Stuf called “Love is always right.” He agreed to perform the song with the Chelsea group. In the spring of 2007, the hit was included in rotation, and in the summer the vocalists delighted fans with the new composition “Wings”.

Chelsea's repertoire includes dozens of cover versions of well-known hits. The guys sang musical movie hits from different years, which were happily sung along by all age categories of music lovers.

At the end of the summer of 2007, the group presented the first video for the hit “The Most Favorite,” which was directed by Vitaly Mukhametzyanov. According to the video director from Ufa, the guys embodied the four elements: fire, water, earth and air. In October 2007, the video clip entered rotation. The video for the composition together with Kirkorov was shot by Oleg Gusev, using the Shuvalov Palace in St. Petersburg. Also in 2007, video clips for the songs “I won’t come to you” and “Wings” appeared.

In 2008, the Chelsea group delighted fans with new compositions “Fly”, “Her Eyes Are Missing” and “Happiness in Every Home”. For the last two songs, lyrics and music were written by Roman Arkhipov. He made a video for the hit “Her Eyes Are Missing.” Among the most striking songs of 2009 are “Point of Return” and “In Dreams and in Reality.” The title of the first hit became the cover of the second album.

In 2011, the charismatic trio was invited to the Channel One project, called “Star Factory. Return". The producers gathered contestants from all seasons, where vocalists from different years competed to reach the finals. In May, the Chelsea group took second place. She was in the lead and received bronze.

In the same year, the Chelsea group presented the songs “I Love” and “We Must”. 2012 was not without surprises. Using words and music, the guys sang the song “My First Day,” and Viktor Drobysh wrote the music for the second hit, called “S.O.S.”

Chelsea group now

In 2016, former participants of the 6th “Star Factory” celebrated the 10th anniversary of the team. The guys came to the anniversary with three Golden Gramophone awards and two albums. Won group of the year twice. But the joint work of Chelsea has been on pause for the past 3 years. The guys recorded their last song, “Don’t Hurt Me,” in 2014.

The ex-manufacturers still perform together, but at the same time they are developing solo projects. In 2015, Arseny Borodin appeared on the popular TV show “Main Stage” and won first place. The soloist performed on New Wave. In 2017, Borodin became a participant in the show "".

Muscovite Roman Arkhipov, who “split away” from the Chelsea group in 2011, lives mainly in America, where he continues to build a musical career. In 2016, on his Instagram page, Roman informed fans about his participation in the creation of the video.

Denis Petrov got married in a luxurious villa in Florence in 2014. His chosen one is aspiring vocalist Anastasia Verkhovskaya. The couple invited three dozen closest relatives and friends to the celebration. Petrov remained in the Chelsea group and participates in the group’s concerts.

Alexey Korzin became a father in May 2016: his wife Katya gave birth to his first child, Petya. The guys from Chelsea were the first to congratulate their colleague.

Corzine continues to participate in the "factory" project, but is also working on his own called Sever. As part of the new project, Alexey presented the single “With You or Alone,” approved by fans.

On March 13, 2006, Factory Stars-6 began its work on Channel One. Among the 17 “manufacturers” selected from 16 thousand applicants were four young people: Arseny Borodin (17 years old, Barnaul), Denis Petrov (21 years old, Mozdok), Alexey Korzin (19 years old, Apatity) and Roman Arkhipov (21 years old, Moscow).

Although all the guys had different musical preferences (Dan read rap, Roma was fond of rock, Lesha was close to r’n’b, Arseny was close to soul), producer Viktor Drobysh already at the second reporting concert united the guys on stage into one whole. This was the first nomination for Lesha Korzin and the first hit of the future group - “Alien Bride”. The song was heard in every cafe in the summer, reached the second line of the Golden Gramophone hit parade of Russian Radio and stayed there for more than twenty weeks.

During the Factory, the guys invariably helped each other in performances and sang about ten songs together. These are “Someone else’s Bride”, “For You”, “Last Call”, “Become Mine”, “Me and You”, “In Half” and “Lift U Up”. The second hit was the song “The Most Favorite,” which the guys performed at Arseny Borodin’s last nomination.

All the guys actively show themselves in the creative field, write songs, take part in arrangements. At the Star Factory, Lyosha Korzin and Dan Petrov performed their songs. The guys play musical instruments, especially worth mentioning is Lesha Korzin, who is a multi-instrumentalist musician who can extract sounds from almost any object.

Group

Although the guys performed together at the reports, the name of the group was not immediately invented. At first, the newly formed factory team, for lack of a better word, was simply called... a boy band. A competition for the best group name was even announced on the Channel One forum. The intrigue lasted until the very end, until at the final concert at the Olympic Stadium the presenter of Russian Radio Alla Dovlatova and the president of the Russian Media Group Sergei Arkhipov presented the guys with a certificate for the right to use the CHELSEA trademark in Russia and the Commonwealth countries... This name is associated with an expensive and fashionable area of London and At the same time, it reminds us of the expansion of Russians into areas where European accents are traditionally placed.

Factory Tour

After the graduation concert, all former factory owners went on a long tour of cities in Russia and neighboring countries. On the tour, the guys from Chelsea performed almost half of the repertoire, enlivened the performances of their friends, and Dan and Arseny also entertained the audience with their entertainment. The group invariably received loud applause and mountains of plush toys from loyal fans. But even the longest tours come to an end... At the end of November, the Star Factory 6 tour also ended.

Songs

Chelsea didn't waste any time between tours. Several new compositions were recorded, and on December 1, the presentation of the group’s debut album took place at the Gelsomino club. It included songs sung at the Star Factory, a rehash of the hit “Veselye Rebyat”, “I won’t come to you” and three remixes.

After the release of the album, the guys recorded a duet with Philip Kirkorov on the beautiful romantic song “Love is always right,” the authors of which were producer and composer Viktor Drobysh and poetess Lena Stuf. This song was released into rotation in March 2007. In June, another song, “Wings,” was released into rotation, and in early November, “I won’t die without your love.” In addition, the guys have songs ready for at least one more album, including English-language songs that were recorded at the famous BlackBird studio in Nashville under the direction of sound producer Chris Lindsey.

We can't help but mention the covers. For various holidays, anniversaries and other occasions, Chelsea covered so many famous songs that it’s time to release them as a separate disc. These are “Song of a Frontline Driver”, “Bombers”, “CSKA Anthem”, a song by the Bremen Town Musicians, “I Walk Through Moscow”, “Don’t Be Sad”, “Harlequin”, etc. In June 2007, Chelsea took part in the recording of a tribute -album to J. Michael along with other Russian artists. The guys sang the timeless hit “Careless Whisper”. Disc "Wellcome George!"

Performances

The geography of the Chelsea group's performances is quite wide - you can see this for yourself by looking at the tour schedule. But among them there are those that I would like to highlight especially.

A significant and very important performance for the group was the performance in New York on July 21, 2007. It took place at the Tavern On The Green club to a full house. Not only the Russian-speaking public was present in the hall, but also Native Americans, who actively applauded and sang along with Chelsea. The American public was equally grateful during the group's second American tour - in February 2008, where Chelsea gave 3 concerts - in Los Angeles and New York, including a performance at the Millennium Theater (New York) on February 10, where the guys shared scene with Stas Piekha. The group was noticed by local show business figures and invited to perform in the fall of 2008 in Seattle, San Francisco, San Diego, Denver and at the famous House of Blues club.

At the end of August, when there were several days free from touring, Chelsea starred in her first video for the song “Most Favorite”. It was directed by the famous music video director Vitaly Mukhametzyanov. According to the script, the guys depicted 4 elements - Den - fire, Arseny - earth, Roma - air, Lesha - water. The clip appeared in rotation in early October.

In February 2007, a second video was shot for the song “Love is always right,” sung together with Philip Kirkorov. The video was filmed in the interiors of the Shuvalov Palace in St. Petersburg by the famous director Oleg Gusev.

And in April 2007, the guys decided to try their hand at video making - they decided to independently shoot and edit a video for the song “I won’t come to you.” The shooting took place in early April. The approximate plot of the video is as follows: the guys rehearse together, then change clothes and go to the club, where they sing a song in front of the audience. The video was released on television in May 2007.

At the beginning of August 2007, the Finnish-Swedish team of the film studio Angel Films shot another video for Chelsea - for the song “Wings”. Filming took place at the Laperanta airport. At the end of August, the clip was put into rotation.

A new round of creativity for the group is associated with a brilliant performance on the First Channel project “Star Factory. Return,” the group’s repertoire was replenished with cover versions of famous Russian songs, which were so “to the taste” of the public that they gave the group a noticeable influx of new fans.

The group is now actively working on creating new material.
